fantasy premier league clean sheet prospects – game week 17

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my verdicts on where the clean sheets will be this weekend in fantasy premier league game week 17

Newcastle v Man City

home CS prospects

  • Newcastle have one of the lower ranked home defences
  • Man City are one of the best attacks away from home

Away CS prospects

  • Man City have the best away defence by some distance but will probably not have Kompany playing
  • Newcastle have a middle of the table attack

Verdict

  • NO clean sheets home or away.
  • Lack of Kompany and desperation of Newcastle will see both teams score

Liverpool v Aston Villa

home CS prospects

  • Liverpool have the best home defence.  Only 7 goals conceded in 8 games plus 4 CS
  • Villa have one of the worst attacks away from home only scoring 4 goals in 8 games

away CS prospects

  • Villa have one of the worst records away.  15 goals conceded and only 1 CS
  • Liverpool have one of the best shot records at home but have only scored 9 goals in 8 games

verdict

  • HOME clean sheet

Man U v Sunderland

home CS prospects

  • Man U have one of the better home shot records.   2 clean sheets in 7 games but 9 goals conceded
  • Sunderland have the worst shot record away athough they ahve  scored 8 goals in 8 games

away CS prospects

  • Only reading has  worse shot stats away from home.  2 CSs though and only 11 goals conceded
  •  the Man U shot record at home hast been that great but 19 goals says it all

verdict

  • HOME clean sheet

Norwich v Wigan

home CS prospects

  • Norwich home defensive shot stats arent that great.  However 4 clean sheets in 7 games and 7  goals conceded is a good record
  • Wigan away attacking shot stats have the 2nd worst shot record away after sunderland.  they have only scored 4 goals in 7 games.

away CS prospects

  • Wigan away defensive shot stats are surprisingly excellent.  Only Man City have a better record.  2 CSs though and 13  goals conceded don’t back that up.  PLus lots of injuries make this difficult.
  •  Norwich home attacking  shot stats are the worst of anyone and its only 8 goals in 7 games.

verdict

  • HOME clean sheet.  Wigan injuries will just tip it for Norwich

QPR v Fuham

home CS prospects

  • QPR home defensive shot stats are lower middle table.   However 1 clean sheet in 7 games and 13  goals conceded is a poor record.  harry has tightened them up though and the goals are distorted by the Swansea opening day thrashing
  • Fulham away attacking shot stats are in the upper third.   They have only scored 12 goals in 8 games.  Missing the Ruiz berba partnership though.

away CS prospects

  • Fulham away defensive shot stats are middle of the table.  However 1 CS and 16 goals conceded is one of the worst records
  •  QPR home attacking  shot stats are the in the lower part of the lower third.  Its only 5 goals in 7 games.

verdict

  • NO clean sheets.  Neither can defend.

Stoke v Everton

home CS prospects

  • Stoke home defensive shot stats are 2nd only to Liverpool.     4 clean sheets in 8 games and 7 goals conceded backs that up.  LB is the only worry.
  • Everton away attacking shot stats are the best in the league.   13 goals in 8 games

away CS prospects

  • Everton away defensive shot stats are one of the best.  However 1 CS and 11 goals conceded doesn’t reflect this.
  •  Stoke home attacking  shot stats are among the worst  Its only 7 goals in 7 games.

verdict

  • NO clean sheets.  A low scoring draw in my mind as the Everton attack scores but concede 1.

Spurs v Swansea

home CS prospects

  • Spurs home defensive shot stats are middle of the table.  Only 1 CS and 10 goals conceded.
  • Swanseas away attacking shot stats are lower mid table.  10 goals in 7 games.  However they have Michu.

away CS prospects

  • Swanseas away defensive shot stats are middle of the table.    2 CS’s and 7 goals conceded doesn’t reflect this.  its a good record
  •  Spurs home attacking  shot stats are pretty ordinary.  However the goals are coming with 13 goals in 8 games

verdict

  • HOME clean sheet.  I think the Spurs defence will keep a CS here against a side that is not that consistent away from home.

WBA v West Ham

home CS prospects

  • WBA home defensive shot stats are upper third of the table.     4 clean sheets in 8 games and 6 goals conceded backs that up.  LB is the only worry where they need Ridgewell
  • West Ham away attacking shot stats are one of the  better in the league.   5 goals in 7 games doesn’t back that up though.

away CS prospects

  • West Ham away defensive shot stats are reasonably good  2 CS and 10 goals in 7 games  reflects this.
  •  WBA attacking  shot stats at home are among the worst.   14 goals in 8 games makes a mockery of this.

verdict

  • HOME clean sheet.  No Carroll and the lack of goals away

Reading v Arsenal

home CS prospects

  • Reading home defensive shots stats is middle of the table.    1 clean sheets in 7 games and 14 goals doesnt reflect this as they have taken some batterings
  • Arsenal away attacking shot stats are  poor and middle of the table.   8 goals in 8 games

away CS prospects

  • Arsenal away defensive shot stats are one of the best.   3 CS’s and 6 goals conceded in 8 games  reflects this.
  •  Reading home attacking  shot stats are among the worst.    However they have scored 12 goals in 7 games.

verdict

  • AWAY clean sheet.  Arsenals defence is better than people think and I’m backing them for a CS
