Player transfer suggestions for GW24
Liverpool
The value options of Alexander Arnold, Gomez, Lovren and Matip all have some uncertainty about them and even Van Dijk is a slight doubt for GW24 so Robertson or the GK are the best options
Leicester (H)
West Ham (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Man Utd (A)
Watford (H)
Everton (A)
Man City
Finally a clean sheet against Huddersfield. Laporte remains the safest option. The return of £6.1m attacking LB Mendy gives an additional layer to potential points. He was played 30 minutes off the bench v Burton but wasn’t even in the squad v Burnley in the FA Cup so that could be read positively or negatively for GW24.
Newcastle (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (H)
Likely blank
West Ham (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Spurs
Trippier is the best option for me here with his attacking potential. You just have to accept occasional rotation. However if you want a premium GK in Lloris he’s reasonably priced. There’s also the security of starts of Vertonghen.
Watford (H)
Newcastle (H)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
Wolves
With Doherty dropped for the last game there are questions about what his gametime now becomes. Jonny provides a cheap option still with some attacking potential and Bennett even cheaper.
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Newcastle (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Cardiff (H)
C Palace
Tomkins is now cheaper at £4.3m than Wan Bissaka but doesn’t have anything like the bonus potential. The GK situation is a mess with neither of the 2 GKs fit and with no return dates. Speroni currently has the gloves but will exit when either of the injuries are resolved.
Southampton (A)
Fulham (H)
West Ham (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Everton
A great entry fixture at Huddersfield even if the ongoing fixtures are mixed. However Digne offers excellent attacking potential although that has to be balanced against a less than steady defence
Huddersfield (A)
Wolves (H)
Watford (A)
Man City (H)
Cardiff (A)
Liverpool (H)
Man Utd
I’ve ranked the defence quite low but there’s obviously alot of Mourinho stats in there. However 2 clean sheets in the 6 games that Solskajer has been in charge isn’t great when you consider how fortunate the Spurs clean sheet was. However the fixtures and overall improvement may make them a gamble worth taking as Shaw and Lindelof are very reasonably priced.
Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Southampton (H)
