Here’s the 2nd part of our article where we analyse 10 top FPL manager’s teams. We did part 1 after Saturday so everyone could see what the managers did with their 2nd wildcards. If you read it you would know 8/10 used it. So since then a 0-0 draw with Palace and Everton ironically helped to limit the damage of Alli and Alderweireld on Sunday. Only 3 had green arrows but the overall average only took a very small backwards step
Ok so here’s the introduction for our fantasy premier league gameweek 34 tips article. If you haven’t seen this before, this article includes the scores of the top 10 FPL managers as well as the team selection points. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. The 10 managers have never finished outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. Also the managers I have picked have been consistent showing they can adapt to different seasons.

The 10 managers FPL stats
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,464
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GW33 average score and rank
The average score of the managers in GW33 was 67 compared to the average of 56. Thats 11 points and 20% above the average. The high score of the 10 was 80. Interestingly though that was from 1 of the 2 managers who didn’t use the wildcard. The low score was 53. A very high spread of 27. Only 3 of the 10 had green arrows
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers took a small backwards step to 83k from 81k in the last gameweek. An decrease of 2k. The best rank is 3.7k and the lowest 206k.
If you’re interested my score of 69 was around the average of the managers of 67. A small increase in rank to 191k from 197k in the last gameweek. An increase of rank of 6k. I remain ahead of only 1 of the top 10 managers. My team value is a disaster though at £101.4m. My aim at the moment is under 100k which is still around 30 points away

Lukaku is in 10/10 FPL managers teams
Aguero are in 9/10 FPL managers teams
Mirovic is in 5/10 FPL managers
Comparison with the top 10k overall rank
Here’s a comparison between the players that make up the top 10 FPL managers and the top 10k overall ranked teams in FPL. The information is from the excellent site FPL discovery. We’ll show you the info and then talk through some thoughts on the meaning. Obviously with the 10 top managers the percentages are always going to be a factor of 10. % at or greater than 100% could mean that 1 team has more than 1 player in that defensive team. The overall % is as of Sunday morning.

So for the first time it’s on. The top 10 FPL managers are in full on battle vs the top 10 k. Here are the battle lines
The top 10 FPL managers have backed the Arsenal and Everton defence and Sanchez far more the the top 10k. Also to a lesser extent Lukaku
The top 10k have stuck with the Spurs defence. Mahrez, Alli and Kane will also affect the top 10k’s rank if they get big points. To a lesser extent Vardy.
So this week the winner was undoubtedly the existing top 10k with Alli and the Spurs defence scoring big. Alderweireld is very highly owned and his goal was a major setback with him getting 15 points. The Everton defence and especially Robles plus Sanchez did pull it back somewhat.

How many have used their wildcard/chips
Prior to the gameweek no one has used their 2nd wildcard as yet. 1 used their all out attack chip so now 8 of the 10 have used their all out attack chip.

Transfers
I won’t be doing this analysis this week as the transfers are dominated by wildcards
Formation and brief team structure notes
3-5-2 was used 6 times
3-4-3 was used 3 times
4-3-3 was used once.
This is a function that now the wildcard has meant that 5 proper midfielders have been selected. It’s also points to the dearth of 3rd striker options
Focus on 1 players team
Here’s the team of our leading manager. Currently 3,711 overall. He was the 2nd highest scorer with 75 points.
So interesting that he’s gone for 15 DGW34 players and has 9 GW35 players. Add 2 transfers and you’ve got 11. A bit of a Liverpool gamble on defence which he paid for this week but apart from that he’s gone for players who are certain to play. Also his penchant for gambling on fixtures irrespective of form with 1 player is in evidence with Bolasie in the team. Ward and sticking with Ozil were his difference makers
