fantasy premier league double gameweek 34 confirmed

Fantasy Premier League

This afternoon the premier league confirmed a number of rearranged fixtures resulting from the FA Cup quarter final and semi final postponements.  Fantasy premier league double gameweek 34 is now confirmed.  Here are the fixtures with some brief early thoughts

Brief background

The FA Cup quarter finals clashed with GW31 leading to a number of postponed games.  GW35 the same with the upcoming FA Cup semi finals.  10 games had to be postponed as a result of those FA Cup fixtures.  I, along with many others, had anticipated that the 6 GW31 fixtures would go to GW34 and 4 would go to GW37 which would fulfil the no clash with UCL/EL games rule from UEFA.

What has happened is that 4 of the 10 postponed games have gone into DGW34.  I still anticipate the rest will go into GW37 but an announcement wont be made until April 3 (before GW33) at the latest apparently.

Some visuals

Here’s how DGW34 looks on the FPL site:

Some initial thoughts

So as you may  know I have 2 teams 1 with and 1 without the free hit chip.  The fixtures in GW37 look stupendous for Man City although who knows what team Pep will be playing by then.  If Kane is fit it also looks like a good triple captain option for him.

If you didn’t realise you can only use 1 chip per gameweek. If you have your bench boost you really need to use it 1 gameweek,  maybe 2 after you wildcard to get 14 players plus Salah

Here’s some scenarios:

WC = wildcard, BB = bench boost, FH = free hit, TC = triple captain.

WC GW33  BB34 FH 35 TC 37

This is keeping with the original plan due to the strong potential for a TC in GW37.  Not so many fixtures for the BB in 34 but the TC  potential isn’t great unless you want to gamble on Lukaku. This is probably still my favourite for both teams even without a FH.  The TC looks better in 37 as there should be one big name player you think will play 2 games.  A bench boost so close to the season end could be hit by more general rotation although the fixtures look better.

 FH34, TC 35 WC 36 BB 37

35 may well be accommodated by your team now and you have a few weeks to prepare.  You would have to use your TC if you have one on Salah or Aubameyang in 35. It allows a WC close to your bench boost if 37 is your target.

WC 34 FH35 TC 36 BB37

This is the traditional route but gets you set up for DGW34 with maximum information but does leave a decent gap before the bench boost.  TC would be Salah home to Stoke.

So a lot more thought needed but I will be posting drafts of both teams over the weekend all going well.  I can’t believe that anything will make me wildcard before at least GW33 though still on either team

If I’ve got anything wrong please tell me.  Good luck with your tinkering
