fantasy premier league – FFGeek picks for GW24

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my picks for fantasy premier league GW24.  Remember its just a team for this gameweek.  No other fixtures are taken into account.    The point of the GW24 picks post is just to help you with any last minute transfer decisions.  If you think that someone has a good chance of points in GW24 over someone else than maybe that will swing the argument.  The teams not meant to be affordable either by the way.  Its the best for GW24 despite cost

Here’s the picks:

Marshall

The Cardiff defence isn’t the most reliable in the league and OGSs attacking philosophy hasn’t helped that either.  17 goals conceded in 11 home games and 3 clean sheets isn’t exactly a recommendation.  no clean sheets in last 3 home games.  However if you’re going to do it home to Norwich is one of the better chances.  1 goal in their last 3 away games.

De Gea

De Gea isn’t the cheapest of Utd defenders.  Evans probably fits that bill at £5.0m.  He is a nailed on selection though.  The United defence away from home isn’t the most reliable with 17 goals conceded in 11 games and only 2 clean sheets.  However as for Cardiff’s opponents Stoke aren’t exactly the most frightening attacking team although they have had their moments against Chelsea and Liverpool. 3 clean sheets in the last 5 though are a good indication of United’s upturn

Steven Taylor

Newcastle havn’t had a home clean sheet since GW10 when they surprisingly beat Chelsea.  Again opposition are the key and Sunderland have had 6 blanks in their 11 away games.  Granted things have improved with the win at Fulham but they hardly look a team full of goals

Mertesacker

Best overall defence in the league despite the blip at Saints. Mertesacker is the best bonus and attacking option.  Only 6 goals conceded and 7 clean sheets at home.  Surely will keep a clean sheet against Palace.  2 goals in 6 away games since Pulis joined.

Kompany

A great home defensive record with 8 goals conceded and 6 clean sheets.  Despite his criticism of Big Sam, Chelsea will surely come to defend as they approached United and Arsenal.  Good chance of a clean sheet in my mind

Stones

With Coleman Alcaraz and Distin all injured £4.2m bargain stones will surely start.  The defence obviously will be weakened and Everton are a risk with so many injuries and Benteke flying but Martinez is a clever coach and I’m banking him to learn from the Liverpool match.  Overall Everton have a good record with 5 clean sheets and only 9 goals conceded in 11 games

Mirallas

Looking more and more a key figure for Everton.  Could even play up front with Lukaku injured and new signing traore not fit.  At worst should play behind a striker.  2 goals in his last 3 and looking a real threat.  The Villa defence is ok away but I’m banking on goals here in an Everton reaction to the Liverpool loss.

Mata

Only Silva and Ozil are in the same ball park for creating chances as Mata.  With Rooney and  RVP fit they make some target for chances created.  Stoke have been good at home but against the top teams, as shown against Chelsea and Liverpool, have conceded goals.

Cazorla

Another Arsenal player hits form.  3 goals in his last 2 games and looking to get into the box regularly.  Palace under Pulis have defended well away from home (notably at City) but a couple of goals (as Chelsea did) looks on for me.

Gerrard

Mr consistency by virtue of set pieces and pens.  Scored in last 3 games.  WBA have a good defensive record but the Pepe Mell seems to want to attack his way out of trouble.  When  you concede 4 goals at Villa then you know you’ve got defensive problems.

Lallana

Requires patience as a bit of a streaky inconsistent point scorer.  Does have the basics of an advanced central position constantly finding space between the lines.  3 goals and 3 assists in his last 7.  Anytime you’re playing Fulham you’ve got to be thinking you’re in with a good chance of returns

Giroud

Speaking of inconsistent and needing patience.  The man who returned 1 in 8 games after a flying start again is in the team based on opposition who should concede a couple. 3 goals and an assist in his last 5.  Before that though it was no return in 4

RVP

a goal on his return from injury.  Before that he scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 5 games.  As I said for Mata  Stoke have been good at home but against the top teams, as shown against Chelsea and Liverpool, have conceded goals.

Suarez

Again incredible against Everton with a goal and an assist.  Opposition are irrelevant but WBA conceded 4 against Villa who have struggled to score at home.  Anything is possible here.

That’s it hope you found it interesting
