Fantasy premier league – FFGeek picks for GW30

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my picks for fantasy premier league GW30.  Remember its just a team for this gameweek.  No other fixtures are taken into account.    The point of the GW30 picks post is just to help you with any last minute transfer decisions.  If you think that someone has a good chance of points in GW30 over someone else than maybe that will swing the argument.  The teams not meant to be affordable either by the way.  Its the best for GW30 despite cost.    The comments are very brief but there’s more stats and details on players in my “ones to watch” articles

Boruc

Southampton aren’t one of the greatest home defences conceding 19 goals in 14 games and the days of repeated clean sheets there seem long gone.  However only Cardiff and Palace have scored less then the 9 goals away that Norwich have.  With the uncertainty over the Sainst RB position then Boruc is the best value defensive representation

Vorm

Again Swansea are anything but the strongest defence at home but WBA have really struggled to score recently.  Since the beginning of the year they’ve only scored 5 goals in 6  games despite trying every attacking combination imaginable.  Set piece taker Brunt is now injured and Anelka banned to make matters worse.

Baines

Only 7 goals in 14 games scored away from home for Cardiff play the Everton defence that has only conceded 10 goals at home.  Only Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal have conceded less.  Baines has set pieces and pens and licence to roam forward in the Martinez system

Shawcross

Andy Carroll or not West Ham aren’t exactly the scoring sensation away from home with 11 goals scored in 14 games.  Stoke haven’t been the most solid team but everyone has to fancy their chances against the defensively orientated Stoke team

Kompany

Despite the acquisition of Long and Jelavic it’s still only 2 goals scored in their last 4 home games.  Man City’s defence isn’t as bad as painted and they’ve only conceded 3 goals in their last 4 away games.  Kompany is probably the most certain to play given competition for other places and has good attacking threat at set pieces

Terry

Chelsea are  team thats got the most overall clean sheets with 13 and have conceded less goals than anyone away from home.  They meet a team that only Cardiff, Sunderland, Palace and Norwich have scored less goals at home.  Terry also has an excellent attacking threat from set pieces and a good bonus record

Bardsley

Another taem that you’ve always got a shot for a clean sheet when facing is Palace.  The lowest scoring attack in the division.  Sunderlands defence is a bit mixed but they have improved under Poyet.  This is about a very poor attack.

Hazard

In great form with some big hauls recently.   A player who is a little inconsistent returrning wise but has the ability to get big returns every time he goes on the pitch.  Little set piece involvement but does have penalties when Lampard is off the field.  Villa at home have one of the worst defensive records conceding 22 goals in 14 games

YYT

With the injured Ramsey this years midfield revelation.   With Aguero out will also have pens.   Consistently churning out points.  Hull recently have had some home set backs despite an overall good defence conceding 8 goals in the last 4 games.  City will be desperate to put their season back on track after going out of 2 competitions in a week.

Johnson

52% of his points have come in 4 recent games even though he’s played 25  this season.   On his day though can be devastating when going past people.  Has also got a good share of set pieces now as well.  There’s nothing wrong with the Palace defence but the LB position isn’t one of their strong points.  I’m backing Johnson to rise to the occaision in this relegation 6 pointer.

Lallana

Played very well recently for England and will be full of confidence.  He’s the  attacking midfield force  of the Southampton side who plays centrally in an advanced position and can score and assist.  Last 3 games without returning but still playing very well.  Only Fulham have conceded more goals away than Norwich.

Mirallas

Has some gametime risks with Deulofeu back but up against one of the worst away defences in the league.  If you’re going to take some risk on him for the DGW then this is the time

Lukaku

One of the more consistent returning forwards in fantasy premier league fresh from scoring in his frst game back against West Ham.  Reiterating what I said for  Mirallas  he’s up against one of the worst away defences in the league

Sturridge and Suarez

I’ve stuck with the 2 best returning and consistent strikers in fantasy premier league.  Both have scored or assisted in 83% of their appearances.  There’s nothing especially wrong with the United defence and theyre coming off the back of 3 away clean sheets.  However without the leadership potentially of the phased out Vidic they didn’t look anything like certain at WBA.  Lets not forget this is still the defensive team who’ve conceded 3 against WBA and 2 against Stoke and Fulham
