Fantasy Premier League free hit – A Free Hit team for GW10

Contributors, Fantasy Premier League

Welcome to a new article from Jordan Sadler based on using your fantasy premier league free hit. Probably the best time to use it would be for a blank week due to FA Cup postponements later in the season but a gameweek now with Man City and Tottenham playing against each other it could also be an option.  The article may also help you for daily or weekly fantasy football choices.

Fantasy Premier League free hit – A Free Hit team for GW10

Just to remind you the free hit chip allows you to make unlimited free transfers for a single gameweek. At the next deadline your squad is returned to how it was at the start of the gameweek. The Free Hit chip can be used once a season, is played when confirming your transfers and can’t be cancelled after it’s confirmed.  When playing your Free Hit chip, any saved free transfers will be lost. You will be back to the usual 1 free transfer the following gameweek.

As said above, I will also be most likely playing my Free Hit chip during a blank gameweek later in the season.

Here’s the free hit team:

It’s quite a pricey team at £101.8 but there are easy ways to reduce the value like Alonso to Luiz or Doherty to Bennett depending on how over budget you are. It is a 4-3-3 team with the bench order being Hojbjerg, Kayal then Bednarek.  Remember you can probably gamble on at least 1 non playing cheapest possible bench player as he will disappear for the next gameweek

GW10 fixtures

Here’s the fixtures for GW10:

fantasy premier league defender tips GW10

Goalkeepers

Kepa

After a last minute equaliser against Man United, Chelsea must be feeling good going into this game, especially after Burnley being beaten 5-0 by Man City last gameweek. 4 clean sheets so far this season for Chelsea, 2 of which came away from home against Huddersfield and Southampton. With clean sheet odds of 4/5, the second best of the gameweek, Kepa is my pick for goalkeeper.

Hamer

Kepa will play so no reason to waste money on a bench goalkeeper so £4.0m Hamer is my pick.

Defenders

Alonso

As with Kepa, good clean sheet odds made me want to double up on the Chelsea defence and there aren’t many better defenders offensively right now than Alonso. With 1 goal and 5 assists in his first 4 games of the season he has blanked offensively for the last 5 gameweeks but I’m sure that won’t last much longer.

Robertson

Liverpool have the easiest fixture of the week with Cardiff at home and therefore unsurprisingly the best clean sheet odds of the week of 11/20. Robertson got an assist midweek versus Red Star Belgrade taking his assist count to 4 for the season and 8 in 2018 for Liverpool.

Holebas

After a poor performance versus Bournemouth, Watford completely turned that around with an assured 2-0 win away from home against Wolves. Holebas has already scored 1 and assisted 4 this season from left back and with Watford playing Huddersfield at home, at team who’ve only scored 4 goals all season, my money is on Watford keeping a clean sheet once again this week.

Doherty

After receiving their first loss of the season at home, I’m confident that Nuno Espirito Santo and Wolves will want to bounce back this week with a strong performance and victory against Brighton. With Brighton’s main striker potentially out that gives Wolves an even better chance of keeping a clean sheet this weekend. Doherty also basically plays as a forward and regularly has an average position similar to the Wolves forwards so there’s no surprise he’s already scored 1 and assisted 2 this season.

Bednarek

I’ve picked Bednarek purely as a bench filler at £3.9m. There is a chance he could play if Southampton decide to go 3 at the back but it is unlikely.

Midfielders

Salah (C)

3 goals for Salah in his last 2 games, could we be starting to see a turning point in his season now where he returns to that incredible form of the last 6 months of last season? To put it into perspective, 13 games into last season Salah had scored 6 and assisted 2, this season scored 6 and assisted 2. It was after that he started to score and assist nearly every game and in his next 13 games he scored 14 and assisted 4. That is exactly why he’d be in my free hit and captain of my free hit team.

Mane

Started the season on fire and has faded out a little but a goal midweek should help his confidence and there’s not many better fixtures in the year for scoring and assisted goals than Cardiff at home. The performance from Liverpool midweek was probably their best of the season in terms of quality of football and fantastic passing, I expect that to now be taken into the weekend and if it is, it would not surprise me to see a similar scoreline to when Cardiff met Man City.

Hazard (assuming fit)

Player of the season so far with 7 goals and 3 assists in 9 games. With Burnley in the form they are currently I’d be very surprised to not see Hazard return this week. His ability on and off the ball will cause the Burnley defence all sorts of trouble similarly to the Man City forwards last week.

Hojbjerg

Bench filler but one that I’m confident will play so if anyone doesn’t play he’d be the first off my bench. Southampton also have a decent fixture at home against a struggling Newcastle so there is a decent chance he could return.

Kayal

Once again a bench filler I’m pretty confident will play. With Propper out for a while I’d expect Kayal to hold his place next to Stephens for now.

Forwards

Lacazette

Arsenal are playing some of the best football in the league currently, some of the team goals they’ve scored in the past few weeks have been breathtaking. Lacazette seems to be their main man up top right now with Aubameyang being moved to the left wing and the Frenchman seems to be in great form regardless of not returning last weekend. 4 goals 4 assists in 625 minutes is a great return for any striker and a fixture against a struggling Palace team is a great time to improve those stats further.

King

Bournemouth have been one of the most impressive non top 6 sides so far this season. Sitting in 6th place with 17 points in 9 games is an excellent start to the season for them and this man alongside my next pick have been key to that form. King has had an strong season so far returning 4 goals and an assist in 9 games. He’s also on penalties which is a huge bonus and Fulham have given away 3 penalties already this season.

Wilson

Just like King, Wilson has had an excellent start to the season returning 3 goals 7 assists so far this season and with them playing Fulham who’re the worst defensive team in the league I’d expect Bournemouth to at least score 2 this weekend. Wilson’s underlying stats are incredible at 0.61 xG/90 and 0.33 xA/90, only Aguero has better out of all forwards so he’s well worth the investment for the game this week

Hope this helps you if you do decide to do your free hit this week or for some daily fantasy picks. Good luck with gameweek 10.
