fantasy premier league game week 14 match overview Wednesday – Part 2

Gameweek analysis

Here’s the remaining 4 games’ match analysis overview for fantasy premier league game week 14 Wednesday part 2

Stoke 2 Newcastle 1

No HBA or Cabaye and 3/4 midielders who are all DMs by trade was always going to make things difficult for Newcastle but it was the defence, which I have always consistently said Im not a fan of, that let them down.  The stoke defensive stats were fantastic whereas Newcastles were poor again.

Goal scorer Walters shooting stats were nothing short of sensational followed by Newcastles goal scorer Cisse and provider Ba at a push. Pen box touches were Walters and Cisse.  The chances created were shared around.  Jerome as sub got a goal and assist from a very low stat base so I wouldn’t get too excited there.

Everton 1 Arsenal 1

Gibbs was surprisingly benched for this and Podolski ill although Gibbs  came on after Koscielny was injured.  The Everton defence performed well marginally better than Arsenals.  Shooting stats were predictably led by the goal scorer Fellaini then Pienaar who’s been quiet in recent weeks.  The emerging Ramsey and goal scorer Walcott were next.  Higher owned fantasy premier league players Giroud, Cazorla and Jelavic were all quiet on the shooting front. Chances created were led by Gibbs, Sagna Fellaini and Baines. High percentage owned Cazorla also did not feature.

Southampton 1 Norwich 1

2 improving teams.  After all the praise I’ve been giving Norwich for their defensive stats there were fantastic defensive stats by Saints. Ppuncheon had the best shooting stats followed by Lambert then Lallana at a push.  Pen box touches were Lambert by a mile then Sondgrass, Lallana and Puncheon.  Chances created were led by Lambert

Chelsea 0 Fulham 0

2 clean sheets and no goals, its hard to not be surprised about the Benitez effect on Chelsea. But even allowing for that Bertrand in for Mata at home to Fulham.  At least if you’re going to rest him put Moses in surely?  The consolation to fantasy premier league owners of Chelsea defenders is that this was a very good defensive performance  as  it was amazingly by Fulham although that may say more about Chelsea as it stands out like a sore thumb against mostly dire defensive performances.

Shooting stats were a little thin and were led by Torres and Riise then Ramires at a push.  A number of high % owned fantasy premier league players had quiet shooting games including Hazard, Mata and Berba.  Pen box touches were still respectable though with Torres, Hazard and Oscar leading these.    Chances created were led by Mata.
