fantasy premier league game week 14 – Tuesday match overview analysis

Gameweek analysis

Here’s the fantasy premier league match overview analysis from Tuesday of game week 14

Sunderland 0 QPR 0

I imagine with Sunderland playing QPR and playing 2 games in game week 16, Sessegnon and  Fletcher would have got quite a bit of transfer interest.  I’ve been quite negative about both on the basis of their shooting stats.    Looking at the game, the Sunderland defence was very ordinary in this game statistically despite the CS but the QPR defence was resolute and had very good stats.  Harry is a fairly unstructured coach in his methodology so this is a bit of a surprise.  It depends whether you take the view that Sunderland were abysmal or QPR  defensively strong but these were very good stats.

Cisse led the shooting stats with Fletcher just about appearing and Taarabt behind. Sessegnon was quiet.  Chances created were led by Taarabt, Johnson, Diakite and Granero.

Villa 1 Reading 0

Benteke has been in and around the shooting stats despite a tricky schedule and at £6.5m is good value.  For fantasy premier league managers if there was ever a time to introduce him to your team this was it at home to Reading and he duly obliged with the winner.  Despite 2 clean sheets in a row there was nothing special about either defensive performance and I wouldn’t rush out to but Villa defensive  assets unless its a rotation buy even with QPR A and Stoke H in the next 2 weeks.  Benteke led the shooting stats continuing his good form and Le Fondre also continued his although struggled to hit the target.

Robson Kanu interestingly was just behind these players and that’s a couple of little performances if you’re looking for a £4.3m filler for your midfield with game week 16 coming and 2 games for Reading.  He was also the most forward midfielder for reading.

Chances created were comfortably led by Bannan with Holman behind him.

That’s it looking forward to more games tonight in what I know is going to be a tough game week.  Shorn of Tevez I would like some unlikely resolute defence from Wigan.  Good luck to all fantasy premier league geeks.
