fantasy premier league game week 21 – the bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Time for a quick run down on the fantasy premier league most transferred in and out in  game week 21

The bandwagons – most transferred in, in the game week

1.  Walcott

A great transfer.  Its hard to think he wont continue as a striker after the performance against Newcastle and an Arsenal striker as a midfielder for £8.8m with a 2 game week in gw23 where he will probably be the hot captain favourite is a no brainer.  As an aside, he’s 4th in the shooting stats for the last 6 but when you’re playing in a team like Arsenal at this price as a striker then stats are out the window.  He will also be extra motivated against his old club at the weekend and there will undoubtedly be a price rise over night as well.  I will be buying him its just a case of when.

2. Fellaini

Fixtures are a little mixed but still the overall midfield shooting stats leader despite being out for 3 games.  Another one playing as a virtual striker.  If I was being very cautious I’d probably like to see that he plays as a striker again  as the form of Pienaar who was far more central at the weekend and Anichebe who gave them a physical presence has changed things a little for Everton.  However, its hard to see Moyes changing what has been such a runaway success.  In addition, the lure of the train wreck that is the Newcastle defence may make it worthwhile for all those people who haven’t got Walcott in yet.  Its a buy for me even with the slight positional risk.

3.  Ba

Again I cant argue with this transfer. I’ve often said in the “ones to watch” that he can score against anyone and he reinforced that over the weekend against Arsenal.  2nd in the overall shooting stats and 3rd in the last 6 even with a tricky fixture schedule.  Also will be in for another price rise if he goes to Chelsea.  Not sure how to take this at the moment.  The prospect of Mata and Hazard providing chances as opposed to Tiote and Perch is definitely appealing its just the gametime and settling in risk that goes with any such transfer.  The fact that he’s such a bargain for Abramovich makes the risk even worse as he doesn’t really have to be a regular player at that price.  Its still a buy for me, he’s total quality even with the tricky fixtures which by the way do involve Reading and Villa consecutively among the trickier ones.

The sinking ships – most transferred out in the game week

1.  Bale

He’s only suspended for 1 game people!  The only way this makes any sense is if you’re planning on using your January wildcard straight away and therefore buying him back in after his suspension and you’re not taking a bath on the sale price.  I may be doing this by the way given the state of available players in my team.  Otherwise its a hold.  He’s just top quality

2.  Tevez

Wow everyone has really got it in for him haven’t they.  Still producing good stats so it will come right definitely he is too good to not score goals.  With Fulham at home in a few game weeks I dread to think what he can do.  However, the obvious shadows are Dzeko after 2 goals and an assist plus the partnership with Aguero worked well and the defensive quality he brings in the air with Stoke coming on the weekend.  Add to this you’ve got the moaning about his strike force from Mancini and all the history of Mancini and Tevez and  you can talk yourself in to thinking he will only play every 2 weeks or so.  However unless you’re buying RVP, Suarez or Ba or buying someone to gain some cash for the midfield then I wouldn’t be selling.  He will come good, the stats and chances are still there he’s just been unlucky

3.  Nolan

No surprise here, you add no returns from 8 games, throw in a blank away to Reading and put a suspension in there for good measure and you’re going to get sales by the bucket load and that’s what’s happened.

I still say he has the stats and the fixtures and the price to come right and he will.  Observing him closely in games he’s still getting in to the positions and getting the chances they’re just not going in.  They will though its only a matter of when.   I also don’t believe we will have to wait until Carroll plays as he did score 2 goals in the 5 games that Carroll didn’t play. The however is that you should be buying Michu,  Fellaini, Walcott, Bale and Mata all before Nolan.  Its a hold for me unless yore buying one of the players just mentioned instead.

thats it hope that gives some food for thought for your fantasy premier league transfers this game week 21
