The bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek.  In order.

Hazard

The £10.4m Chelsea midfielder is not who I expected as top of the transfers in after his blank and Chelsea’s loss to Newcastle.  The attraction is home to Hull.  It’s 2 goals and 2 blanks in his last 4 for Hazard both in home games making a season total of 5 goals and 2 assist in 15 games.  His consistency rate is a little poor at a goal or assist in 47% of games.  However history shows that he can score a big haul against lower placed sides on his own ground.  Good home fixtures in the next 6.  Has pens.

Next 6 fixtures:

Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)

Costa

Like Hazard the £11.0m Chelsea forward blanked against Newcastle although again had chances to score.  A natural replacement for Aguero’s injury.  His scoring has slowed down with 2 goals in his last 5 games.  However overall it’s still 11 goals in 12 games.  He also has continued to have good underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  Hull at home is a big attraction although fixtures are mixed.

Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)

Cisse

2 goals off the bench for the £5.7m Newcastle forward against Chelsea made it 3 goals in his last 2 games.  Overall it’s an incredible 7 goals and 1 assist in 3 starts and 6 sub appearances.  Fixtures are not easy though and include Chelsea again

Arsenal (A)
Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)
Chelsea (A)

Ya Ya Toure

Anyone got a sense of deja vu with a Aguero injury forcing him off and YYT stepping up to take a pen?  It’s 3 goals and an assist in his last 5 for the £10.7m Man City midfielder and he’s showing some shooting stats that we haven’t seen even last season.  Silva coming back is a possible risk to him playing centrally more forward but it’s also possible that Silva could play left with 2 strikers which would again give YYT more chance to go forward.  If you’re going to gamble though, Leicester next and these fixtures are the time to do it

Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)

Clichy

2 clean sheets in his last 3 games including a goal against Southampton in GW13. The Man City LB is also keenly priced at £5.4m compared to the other defensive options and he’s started the last 8.  The catch is that Kolarov is now fit and like the rest of the Man City defensive options (apart from maybe Kompany and Hart) rotation is an issue for their gametime.  Great fixtures though if you can live with that risk.

Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)

The sinking ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Fabregas

Interesting that a 1 match suspension for the £9.8m Chelsea midfielder  has seen him sold more than Aguero who has a potentially multi match injury.  The assist against Newcastle gave him a return after 2 blanks but it’s not his consistency that is the issue it’s his lack of goal scoring (backed up by poor shooting stats) due to his deep starting position.  Incredibly he’s only scored  1 goal this season.  Although its his 11 assists that are keeping him ticking over.  He is in some ways the anti Hazard who isn’t a consistent but a potentially big scorer.

Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)

Aguero

Pellegrini has said there is ligament damage which means there could be a number of weeks out for the £12.9m Man City striker.  At the moment everyone is waiting for scan results.  It’s really whether you want to sell before you see the results.  Also I imagine people are waiting to see where Rooney plays and that he gets through the Southampton game before transferring him in as an option.

Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)

Chambers

a 1 match suspension for the £5.1m Arsenal RB/CB and the emergence of RB Debuchy back in training has seen a big selling numbers.  These factors seem to be over riding the 2 clean sheets in 3 games although the defensive disaster against Stoke could have hardly have given people confidence as Chambers himself had a nightmare

Newcastle (H)
Liverpool (A)
QPR (H)
West Ham (A)
Southampton (A)
Stoke (H)

Austin

The sale of the £6.1m QPR striker is a little surprising after his 1 match suspension.  The Everton game would have been a good chance of a blank anyway and then with WBA home after that and Palace the next home game then it’s a surprising sale.  Perhaps the form of Cisse and Sakho have changed peoples minds.

Everton (A)
West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (H)
Burnley (A)

Di Maria

No fit to play against Southampton tonight although apparently due to return in GW17 home to Liverpool.  If you’ve waited this long it’s perhaps a little surprising that you’re selling now?  Only 2 assists in 5 games before his injury though showed a slow down in returns although his underlying stats are good.

Southampton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Newcastle (H)
Spurs (A)
Stoke (A)
