The bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek in order

Harry Kane

No surprises here after his 2 goal and 2 assist demolition of the best defence in the league on New Years day and it’s no surprise that he’s been transferred in by over 200k FPL managers.  That takes it to 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 games.   He’s returned a  goals or assist in 7/12 games this season or 58% of games which is also impressive.  Over the season his underlying shooting and creating chances stats aren’t great but they have improved markedly for the last 4 games. Next 3 fixtures aren’t too bad either.

Next 6 fixtures:

Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Ham (H)

Bertrand

I was a little sceptical about the timing of transferring in Bertrand before playing Arsenal although that clean sheet kept up their road to defensive recovery. They are away to Man Utd and again I’m a little bewildered about why you would transfer him in before this game.  However if it’s part of a wildcard and a longer term play then thats understandable as they have the clean sheets  (9) and underlying stats to show that they are a team worth having representation of. Whether you would pay £0.7m more for him over Alderweireld is questionable in my mind.  Yes he has better attacking stats and we are awash with cash at the moment but once Aguero is back those funds may not be so readily available

Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)

Hazard

Does anyone really not have Hazard?  I know the attraction of the consistency of Fabregas and the striking focus of Costa does give an attraction to others over Hazard but his explosiveness and his natural captain potential at home makes him a dangerous player not to own.  3 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 returning in each of these games and his consistency is now a very respectable 60% and only Sanchez has a higher 10+ point percentage than Hazard.  Not bad fixtures next

Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)

Chadli

Another player who was sensational against Chelsea in GW20 with 2 assists and a goal.  Has struggled to get into the team recently but before that had the leading shooting stats of any midfielder and played virtually played as a support striker.  The last 4 games have seen him come back into the team and we’ve seen a goal and 3 assists in that period.  Scored or assisted in 9 of 17 games this season which at 53% is very respectable.  Next 3 fixtures aren’t too bad

Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Ham (H)

Charlie Austin

2 blanks after 4 goals and an assist in 3 games has been a bit of a shock for those FPL managers who’ve captained him especially.  His shooting stats are ok but he doesn’t create chances for others particularly.  His connsistency of 10/18 games or 56% isn’t anything to be sniffed at.  Fixtures a bit mixed but Burnley next is a reasonable time to buy and definitely not a time to sell

Burnley (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Hull (A)

The sinking ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek

Bony

Off to the African Cup of Nations for the Ivory Cosat so could be off for a decent number of gameweeks as they’re one of the favourites.  Hard to justify holding.

West Ham (H)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Man Utd (H)

Clyne

According to the FPL site back from injury for GW21. A little weird that he’s in the transfers out then and Bertrand in the transfers in.  As I said above Southampton are a long term defensive play.

Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)

Austin

Speaking of being in the transfers in and out column.  The obvious person to go for Kane after 2 blanks but away to his former club Burnley seems a bit of a drastic step.

Burnley (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Hull (A)

Pelle

After holding out over the tricky fixtures it seems a little harsh to sell him now 1 game after some good fixtures.  It’s 3 blanks in the last 3 games and only 2 goals in the last 9 but he has shown his ability in the early season games where he got 6 goals and 4 assists in his first 11 games.

Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)

Downing

3 consecutive blanks have strained the FPL managers holding him.  4 goals and 6 assists have masked the lack of shooting stats in what is basically an assist based player who has done well from shots from distance.  However he does have a CAM positioning and 2 excellent strikers in Carroll and Valencia plus Sakho when he returns.  Players like Fabregas have kept the FPL scoreboard ticking over based on assists. 2 reasonable fixtures next before 4 tricky ones.

Swansea (A)
Hull (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
