FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GAMEWEEK 28 REVIEW – SATURDAYS GAMES

BOURNEMOUTH 3 WEST HAM 2

Lineups from the excellent site football-lineups

Here’s the pass and position map plus the shot map from 11tegen11

Bournemouth Pass Map

West Ham  pass map

King

3 goals.  90 mins.  played as a striker.  Missed a pen.  Great finishing and had a decent amount of chances.

Fraser

Blanked.  84 mins.  RAM.  Played very far forward and was unlucky not to return as created some good chances.  FPL owners should be optimistic

Antonio

1 goal.  90 mins.  Played as a striker.  Was excellent either in a structured attack or on the break.  Had a load of chances and could have scored more.  Owners should be optimistic

Carroll

Blanked.  90 mins.  A quiet game where he had few chances.  Antonio was constantly on the shoulder of the last defender meaning Carrolls natural space was crowded out.  A disappointing performance which can only make owners pessimistic

Lanzini

Blanked. 90 mins.  CAM position.  May have been given the plum attacking position but for me was often too deep and ended up playing the pass before the assist pass.  Very little underlying attacking output.  FPL owners should be disappointed.

Snodgrass

Blanked.  33 mins.  Started on the bench with Feghouli taking the RAM position. Did nothing when came on and FPL owners should be very pessimistic

Defences

Were there any defences there?  I didn’t notice.  West Ham were downright pathetic.  Fonte in particular was terrible.  You can see from the shot map the quality shorts that Bournemouth had.  Bournemouth have always been a joke defensively and this game didn’t change that.  Their Pep style playing from the back getting them in constant trouble.

EVERTON 3 WBA 0

Pass and Position Maps

Lukaku

1 goal 1 assist.  90 mins.  Another fantastic display where he was a constant threat.  Goal was simple but his assist showed that he can hold the ball up and create chances for others.  If it’s possible he did his status even more good.

Barkley

2 assists.  90 mins.  CAM.  Constantly forward and close to Lukaku and that’s where he can be so effective.  The first assist was a shot rebound.  The 2nd was a great cross for Lukaku.  FPL owners should be very optimistic

Chadli

Blanked.  90 mins.  RAM.  Unfair to judge him in a game where WBA were 2nd best but if any of the attacking players for WBA came off with credit it was him.  He had a couple of long range shots but more importantly started, played in a forward position and lasted the 90 mins.  I would be optimistic as an FPL owner although fixtures coming up make it difficult

Morrison

Blanked 12 mins.  Didn’t start.  Did nothing in the short time available.  It was a weird team selection from Pulis and possibly a reaction to the home loss to Palace.  Hard to know what this means but hard to be anything other than pessimistic

Rondon

Blanked 15 mins.  Didn’t start.  Ditto for the Morrison comments

Defences

As you can see from the shot map this was a game dominated by Everton.  I’m a big fan of Pulis but I think he was kidding himself in the post match comments

HULL CITY 2 SWANSEA 1

Grosicki

Blanked.  90 mins.  LAM.  Apart from Niasse obviously,  Grosicki was the player who effected the Hull attack the most with some very good underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  Looked good cutting into shoot in the structured attacks and was always the first on board for any counter.  A promising performance.

Sigurdsson

1 assist 90 mins.  LAM.  It really was a 1 man effort to keep Swansea in the game as he again shot and created chances for his team mates.  Another excellent performance unrewarded.

Llorente

Blanked.  44 minutes.  A dead leg forced him off just before half time.  He had been ineffectual up to that point.  Hard to judge him on this game considering the injury.

Defences

Anotonio Conte will undoubtedly and deservedly win manager of the season but if Marco Silva can keep Hull in the premier League considering the defensive basket case they were then he can’t be far behind.  However there’s still alot to do and today if Routledge had anything like his shooting boots on the game could have been very different.  Hull still conceded alot of good quality shots against  a team led by guy leading the line after Llorente went off who struggled in the Championship.  Swansea will have to score goals to stay up and their defence seems unfixable.  Fernandez and Mawson really didn’t cover themselves in glory over both Niasse goals.
