FA Cup quarter finals March 9/10 – fantasy premier league gameweek 29 potential postponements

Fantasy Premier League, News

The FA Cup 5th round isn’t even over yet but already fantasy premier league managers should be thinking about the quarter finals which will be played on March 9/10 and the inevitable postponements that will occur in fantasy premier league gameweek 29

There’s no rearranged fixtures as yet and nothing on the Barclays fantasy premier league site regarding fantasy premier league gameweek 29 but this is just an early warning.

Here’s the quarter final fixtures

Here’s the draw from the BBC football website

FA Cup quarter-final draw

  • Oldham Athletic or Everton v Wigan Athletic
  • Millwall v Blackburn Rovers
  • Manchester City v Barnsley
  • Manchester United or Reading v Middlesbrough or Chelsea

The ties will take place on the weekend of the 9 and 10 March.

Assuming Chelsea, Man Utd and Everton go through (apologies to fans of other clubs I’m just going with the likely odds) then the following games will be postponed

West Ham v Man Utd

Arsenal v Everton

Man City v Wigan

Fulham v Chelsea

That’s 8 teams who potentially wont play.  At this stage I’m not sure where the fixtures will end up and how many if double game weeks will be created but one thing is for sure Arsenal and Chelsea have European games in the week following March 13th and 14th and Utd the week before (March 6th) so there’s limited room to move

The only thing I can say at the moment is think carefully before you bring in players from those 8 teams above and wait to after the Man U reading game tonight before you bring in any Reading players.

The excellent FPL price changes twitter site has signalled that Bale will go up in price tonight so wait until the Man U Reading game before you do so if you’re funding it with a cheap player from Reading
