fantasy premier league gameweek 34 – the FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s our fantasy premier league gameweek 34 article where we outline the FFGeek team for this double gameweek.  I left the transfer to today just to make sure there was no reverse news on the Ibrahimovic injury

Transfers

Funny how things can change in a gameweek.  If you read my start of the week FFGeek team planning article.  You’ll see that my main focus was on which defender I wanted for the double gameweek as the rest of the team had ok fixtures.

The Ibrahimovic injury meant Brunt got another stay of execution and the focus was on who was going to replace Ibra.  I left my transfers over night just in case the news was reversed.  If anything it looks like the injury was worse than feared and he’ll be out for the season at least.  It does remind you that early transfers before players fixtures in the week does come with risk as Kane also showed recently.

That meant my captain pick was gone and that would now become the focus of the Ibrahimovic out transfer.  Last night my captain pick article focused on 3 players:  Negredo, Rashford and Benteke.  I won’t regurgitate the article here but in the end my conclusion was that Negredo was the best captain option for me and therefore my transfer.

So Ibrahimovic out Negredo in

Like a man with a bundle of cash (£5.9m to be exact) and nothing to do with it I was tempted to take a -4 to put in say Pogba for Fletcher  (I know I always go on too deep etc) and play my AOA chip but it just didn’t seem to make sense.  I did even think about bringing Sanchez back somehow,  despite no DGW34, but that made even less sense.  Obviously the end of the season nearing and money in my FPL pocket is making me giddy.  The sensible conservative FPL player eventually nagged the giddy one into submission.

Team selection

An easy one this week with 3 WBA players having blank weeks.  All the attacking players have good fixtures so 3-4-3 it was always going to be.  With Chelsea at home to Southampton and Valencia with a DGW the choice was down to Holebas vs Holgate.  While Holebas has been fantastic for me recently,  their away form isn’t up to much and Hull’s home form is strong.  An Andy Carroll less West Ham gives me some hope of a clean sheet in London.

Here’s the team then:

Captain

Negredo’s the captain and this won’t be changing.  Again if you’re skim reading the article and have just dropped down to this then here’s the link to the captain article of yesterday

Good luck this gameweek
