Here’s my fantasy premier league gameweek 36 tips – best picks. These are just for gameweek 36 and do not take into account future games. That will be for the imaginary wildcard team article i will do later. You will see that its dominated by DGW teams of Man City, Chelsea, Spurs, WBA, Wigan and Swansea
- Cech
- £6.4
- With rotation all over the place in the Chelsea defence the best way to secure gametime is with Cech. Rated 2nd best defence overall in my “rating the defences” article just come out despite hard games he’s good for the possibility of a clean sheet plus save points
- Robles
- £4.0
- The cheap DGW option. The defence is ranked 10th overall in my article although it does seem to be a clean sheet or a goal fest. kept his place and should be good for multiple save points if not a CS.
- Dawson
- £4.4
- Great value in a defence that has all the underlying stats but for some reason cant keep clean sheets. Still at this value he can be counted as a filler and hopefully the last 4 games will see those underlying stats rewarded
- Clichy
- £5.7
- The city defence was only ranked 5th in my defence article but has suffered without Kompany. Now he’s back and they have a very good set of fixtures then the rewards will come. If youre looking for certainty of gametime then only Hart and Kompany have that and Clichy is the next best bet
- Stam
- £3.8
- With injuries to Figueroa and Alcaraz then Stam should hold his place as a wing back until the end of the season. Great value
- Rangel
- £4.7
- The best of the Swansea defence which i must admit I’m not a huge fan of. Davies is the cheapest but I would spend the extra 0.3m as Rangel is a much stronger attacking presence.
- Hangeland
- £4.8
- Despite having a poorly rated defence of 14th home to Reading has to be a good chance of a clean sheet and with no certainty over FB selection then Hangeland is the natural pick
- Nasri
- £8.1
- Nasri has the better recent underlying stats over Silva and has started the last 5 returning in them all except 1. The easier fixtures should see both Silva and Nasri start but Nasri is in the better form for me
- Bale
- £10.6
- If you need me to provide commentary then I’m very sad for you. My natural captain choice at the moment
- Mata
- £10.0
- I’ve gone for Mata over Hazard even though I prefer Hazard as a fantasy premier league player as hazard started last night in the Europa whereas Mata only had 15 minutes so in my mind that gives mata more chance of playing both games. Given the difficulty and the importance f the 2 DGW games it maybe that he plays both but Ive taken Mata as the safer option. Oscar also didnt play so if you want Chelsea coverage at a cheaper price he also is an option but in my mind less likely to play 2.
- Michu
- £8.1
- A must have for the DGW even with a couple of tricky fixtures. Still producing great underlying stats and these have finally recently been translated in toreturns
- Maloney
- £5.3
- With Dorrans the cheap midfield filler although has seen price rises to reflect the DGW
- Aguero
- £11.1
- The best of the striking options in my view as he does play the higher up when Tevez plays. doesnt have great stats but that position the good fixtures and his quality should see returns. My second captain choice behind bale at the moment
- Lukaku
- £6.7
- Again a little quiet on the underlying stats despite producing goals but a good choice for this DGW
- Carroll
- £8.2
- With Hangeland the only other non DGW player picked. home to his former side will surely see him motivated. The Newcastle defence I’ve rated the 2nd worst in the league behind Reading and Carroll is in great form in returns and with his underlying stats.
- Hope my fantasy premier league gameweek 36 tips – best picks – gives you some food for thought
