fantasy premier league gameweek 38 – the early bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my fantasy premier league gameweek 38  early bandwagons and sinking ships.  Thats my view of the 5 most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  Quite low activity so far in the gameweek which is natural given the fact that alot of games to go.

Dzeko

Pellegrini continues to play 2 strikers and Dzeko continues to show a return to form. 3 goals in 2 games after 3 games without a return.  Hard to see him not playing in the title decider against West Ham who will park as many buses at the Etihad as they can fit. West Ham aren’t the worst side away from home.  They’ve conceded 9 goals away from home in their last 6 games with 1 clean sheet.  Thats mid table away defensive form.  The Dzeko transfer also fits in if Rooney isn’t fit.

Yaya Toure

Would like to see him get through the midweek game but otherwise a definite buy.  Has defied all logic all season.  Will also have pens if Aguero is not in the side.

Giroud

Back in form with 3 of the last 4  home games gone and 3 goals and an assist in his last 4 games.   The last game is away to Norwich.  Their home form is excellent.  3 clean sheets in their last 6 and only 5 games conceded shows their home form.  The negative is that if Sunderland get a point midweek they maybe relegated which means they could take the foot off the pedal.  However with Arsenal having secured top 4 status and no chance of 3rd then it wouldn’t surprise me if Giroud is rested after such a long season.  A risky transfer for me

Sterling

Started the last 5 games and has seen 3 goals and an assist in those games.  Has also seen him starting as the central attacking midfielder. Last game home to Newcastle with Liverpool needing to score 8 goals or so means any Liverpool player will be worth owning.  13 goals conceded in the last 6 away games shows their lack of recent away defensive form.  If Liverpool are still in it they could score anything.  Even with Sturridge back it’s hard to see him not starting.  Wait until after tonight though

Suarez

Hard to believe anyone that anyone could sell him with a home game against Newcastle as the last game of the season.  If you don’t own him an absolute must buy for GW38.  As I said for Sterling wait until after tonight though

Rooney

There is some speculation that he will play on Tuesday after being injured for the first part of DGW37.  I personally wouldn’t transfer him out if he looks like he will start but if there’s any doubt then he’s far too expensive to keep on the bench.  Especially with the City and Liverpool strikers available.  He is in good form with 6 goals in the last 5 games and with pens.  You also have to factor in how much better United are away than at home.  Southampton have conceded 8 goals in the last 6 games at home which is a mid table home defensive team.

Ramsey

Is an injury doubt and hard to see with Arsenal 4th that he would be risked.  As I said for Giroud   The last game is away to Norwich.  As I said for Norwich above, their home form is excellent.  3 clean sheets in their last 6 games and only 5 games conceded shows their home form.  The negative is that if Sunderland get a point midweek they maybe relegated which means they could take the foot off the pedal. It would also give an excuse for Wenger to rest players and Ramsey coming off an injury would be a natural target.

Aguero

Aguero has tweeted very positive words about his injury as a result of leaving the field.  Something like I was worried about the world cup so I ran off as quick as I could even with the slightest twinge.  Thats obviously not a quote but you get the message.  Means he could be looking for an early exit in both the last 2 home games if the game is in the bag.  However you leave him out at your peril.  2 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games even though he’s only averaged 49 minutes per game.  As I said for Dzeko, West Ham aren’t the worst side away from home.  They’ve conceded 9 goals away from home in their last 6 games with 1 clean sheet.  Thats mid table away defensive form.

Mata

An extremely quiet performance against Sunderland was on the back of 5 goals and 2 assists in the 4 games prior to that so a sale maybe a little premature. This is especially so as United are far better way than at home.  Southampton have conceded 8 goals in the last 6 games at home which is a mid table home defensive team.

Mirallas

Easy one to finish.  Out injured for the season.  A definite sell
