Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW10 wildcard tips article where we pretend we are using our wildcard. It gives player suggestions with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW10 WILDCARD TIPS – OUR IMAGINARY WILDCARD

This is a short article where I’m pretending I’m using my wildcard to give you player picks with more longevity than the next game. It’s short as there are no stats. I’ve given links to articles below with all the detailed stats you’ll need if you want to investigate a player in more detail.

In this article there are no stats just some brief narrative on the selection below. There’s stats in the player ranking articles which can be found here using the links below

There’s also our fixture ease article which gives player suggestions with good fixtures. Our underlying stats article focuses on expected goals at a team and player level which may also give you some ideas

STRUCTURE

The structure is flexible enough to be a 3-4-3 or a 4-3-3

GKs

Elliot is great value for me and in a performing defence.

Foster is the cheapest route into an also performing WBA defence.

 Defence

I’ve gone for 3 premium defenders .  Otamendi is the best of the Man City defenders although at some stage he will face competition from Kompany

Jones is great value as a Man Utd defender.

Davies was a tricky one.  I could have gone for a Chelsea defender even though the injury to Kane seeks to have unsettled the defence somewhat.  I really think though that Ben Davies has shown such good attacking stats that I would be reluctant to get rid of him until I had to rather than just in case I have to.

Liverpool have a good run of fixtures and although they’ve had some problematic defending issues they have in games against lower ranked opposition produced good stats.  At £4.5m Moreno doesn’t need to play every week.

Lastly I’ve gone for Huddersfield’s Zanka who has good attacking stats and the Huddersfield defence has performed well even if they have had the rub of the green on fixtures

Midfield

Salah has been a very consistent performer and with Liverpool having good fixtures should perform.

Sane didn’t get off the bench for Man City midweek and you would think that would mean he will play at the weekend.  I also think he’s the best of the midfielders so it’s just gametime that is the risk between him and Sterling.

Richarlison and Choupo Moting are the pick of my cheapie midfielders with both having a decent run of fixtures coming up

Loftus Cheek is my cheapie benchwarming £4.5m although he is a risk as he was on the Palace bench last week

Forwards

The forwards are difficult as I would like to have Kane and Aguero in there.  However Kane is out this week and Aguero is a gametime risk after the EFL this week.  I would have to work to get them back as I haven’t kept cash in the bank.

So I’ve gone for Morata due to the Kane injury although in my own head for my team I still haven’t decided what to do as I can’t decide between Lacazette or Morata

I’ve also kept Jesus as I think he has more chance of playing in GW10 after Aguero played 120 minutes next week. Aguero is my preferred Man City forward asset at the moment though.

I’ve kept Lukaku despite the 2 tough fixtures.  It may not have been the case had Aguero and Kane been likely to play but getting them in would take priority over a 2 week chancer on someone else and the n also having to get Lukaku back.

Btw I haven’t gone for Sanchez as I just think the fixtures after this game make it difficult

Excuse the brevity but the article has links to all you need to investigate players in more detail
