Here’s my view on the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships as we head towards gameweek 14. If your’e not familiar these are the 5 most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.
Fantasy premier league – the early GW13 bandwagons and sinking ships
Bandwagons
Rooney
Not surprising after 2 goals yesterday. Has returned in everyone of his last 5 games scoring 5 goals and 4 assists. Has pens and set pieces while RVP injured. An absolute nailed on buy. 2 home games next as well. Then some pretty good fixtures

Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Hull City (A)
Norwich (A)
Coleman
A goal and a clean sheet yesterday. Brings Evertons total clean sheets to 7. Coleman now has 2 goals and 1 assist. Everton are a buy defensively in my mind there’s no doubt. With the next fixtures being Man Utd away and Arsenal Away I would leave it until the Fulham home game in GW16. Overall I probably still prefer Jagielka for bonus potential

Man Utd (A)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Southampton (H)
Giroud
Was unlucky to draw a blank in Arsenals 3-0 win at Cardiff. Still had good chances and over the season has performed well. 3 goals in his last 5 but has only returned in 2 of those games. The bandwagon is surely about the fixture with Hull at home. Hull have been good defensively, at least at home. However, Southampton showed at home in the 4-1 win that they can be dismantled. Personally I cant see past Rooney Aguero and Suarez as a front 3. Giroud is a hold for this game only as far as I’m concerned

Hull City (H)
Everton (H)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (A)
Lukaku
3 goals in his last 2 after a couple of blanks. Returning to his best looking form. has good underlying shooting stats. has been missing the creating chances part of his game that was there last year. That’s why its 8 goals and 1 assist. As I said Rooney Suarez and Aguero is my preferred front 3 but if you’re looking for a cheaper version. Lukaku and Remy are the better options under £9m .
2 hard fixtures now and although Lukaku has the ability to score against any opposition I would leave it until the Fulham home game in GW16

Negredo
A goal yesterday making it 6 goals and 3 assists for the season. 3 goals and an assist in his last 4 as he’s just stepped up the game time. Was still 4th in the best shooting underlying stats table for yesterdays game. Scored from a free kick rather than open play. Still only averaged 60 minutes. Maybe £3m cheaper than Aguero but no where near as good in my view. Far too rotatable, subbed too much and his conversion rate looks unsustainable. Aguero is worth the extra in my mind
The Sinking Ships
Sturridge
Out for up around 2 months with an ankle injury. Could be 11 fantasy premier league gameweeks. A definite sell. Looks like Rodgers will play 1 up front. That may mean a return to 4-3-3- or 4 -2-3-1. Moses or sterling may get more gametime. However I can see Coutinho involved more centrally. Suarez looked liked he missed him against Hull so Norwich at home will be interesting.
Baines
Injured with no return date although the press reports are up to 6 weeks. 6 weeks in December could be 8 games. Far too expensive for that. Sell. Oveido looks like he will be the beneficiary. Unfortunately he’s a midfielder in fantasy premier league so not really a great substitution.
Barkley
After an excellent Merseyside derby it was a surprise to see him dropped to the bench. I don’t think it was a terminal thing as Martinez did praise Barkely after the Merseyside derby. However rest is hard to justify when he was on the bench for the 2 games prior. Its hard to see at the moment if Mirallas or Barkley will lose gametime after Deulofeu’s fantastic performance. I suppose the good thing is with Man Utd and Arsenal away Barkley would have been on our fantasy premier league bench anyway. So a chance to observe. Personally I’m going to hold and have him on the bench for the next 2

Boruc
Out for 6 weeks with a broken hand. A definite sell unless maybe he’s your reserve keeper and you can play say Mignolet or whoever to the January fantasy premier league wildcard window. Reserve keeper yesterday was Gazzaniga although Davis is also in contention.

Aston Villa (H)
Man City (H)
Newcastle (A)
Tottenham (H)
Cardiff City (A)

Januzaj
Benched in 2 of the last 3. At least he didn’t come on for a 1 pointer in either. Not helped by Kagawa starting to get some gametime. The Kagawa effect will be more difficult when RVP returns and Kagawa wont play centrally but on the left where januzaj will play. Kagawa is also fresh and not needing rotation either. With the amount of rotation on in December generally for all players. Having players with major gametime risk isn’t helpful. I may try and get through to the January fantasy premier league wildcard window and for the moment I’m holding. It may depend on your gametime risk in other areas of your fantasy premier league team though.
