fantasy premier league GW18 tips – analysing the teams of 10 top FPL managers

If you think GW17  was brutal for your team you weren’t alone.  Here’s our fantasy premier league GW18 tips article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. These 10 managers have not finished outside the overall rank of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

If the article is too long there’s a template team for the top 10 FPL managers analysed towards the end of the article

This season we welcome back 4 of last seasons managers who were the subject of our article. We add to that a new 6 managers. Stats of these managers are unbelievable and every bit as impressive as last season

2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 seasons (ie 30 times playing)

The celebrity manager we followed last season finished around the 20k mark so he’s not in the group this season. This season were going to focus on the manager each week who had the highest finish last season with an amazing overall rank of 15 believe it or not.

 fantasy premier league GW18 tips

A good score for this manager. He was the highest scorer of the 10 and his rank is 230k. A improvement of rank of 24kk from last weeks OR of 254k. His points total is 922. He’s the 3rd ranked of the 10 FPL managers. Amazingly he doesn’t still doesn’t own Salah.

 The manager above with 52

His score was 35

A bit of a different examples in differences which I think normally happen

Defence – 8 points difference

Captain – 0 points additional difference

A few attackers – only 2 of the 7 attacking players are the same which is unusual. 9 points difference between the variations

Lets look at the differences in the 2

  1. Great article as always geek. Having a tough time with my captain picks this season. My captains have done 128 points worse than my vice captains. Difference between being 670k and 5k for me. Hoping I can just work my way back up now. In a bit of a pickle with Richarlison and Morata. Any help and advice will be appreciated. This is my team:

    Pope, Speroni
    Azpi, Otamendi, Tarkowski, Kenny, Klavan
    Hazard, Salah, Coutinho, Richarlison, Loftus-Cheek
    Kane, Morata, Calvert-Lewin

My TV is 105.1 and I’m going to take out Tarkowski after this week. I’m thinking to Ogbonna or Masuaku but wouldn’t mind trying to work out a way to Jones. Should I play Calvert, Otamendi or Klavan this week? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for your help!

  2. Your comparison chart has Sterling twice with different info ?. And can you explain why Elliott is still in so many squads, including your combined managers team, when he’s not playing? .

    • Hi mate thanks for the question. Yes Sterling in twice was my mistake. Thanks for the spot. I normally do the top 10k percentages first and then add the players in the 10 managers teams after. I must have erroneously thought Sterling was not part of the top 10 k teams which he was

The combined team is there to represent the players most in the managers teams. Only 2 managers have rid themselves of Elliot which is why he shows up in the combined team

Cheers for the question and good luck this weekend
