THE TRANSFERS
At the moment I have 4 problem gametime players. Holgate. Amat, Anichebe and Ake. My objective was to increase the amount of players on the pitch for GW21 as I potentially don’t have a full team. I only had £0.1m in the bank.
The 2 form problem players are Hazard and Firmino. In the near future I’m holding Firmino and Hazard until after GW22 when they are home to Swansea and Hull respectively. I’ll roll over a transfer in GW22 and decide what to do before they play each other in GW23. I need to improve my defence so at least 1 will be involved in a GW23 transfer.
I would have liked to replace the £4.0m Everton defender Holgate but there’s no £4.1m option which also rules out any transfer of £4.0m selling price Amat.
Anichebe is out this week but possibly back next week so ideally I would have liked to have just held him on the bench. Ake has had his loan to Bournemouth recalled and his role for Chelsea is doubtful to say the least. However there has been talk of a minor but long term deteriorating injury to Alonso and Alonso has also been criticised in recent games. Not by Conte but various pundits.
So my transfer choice was either injured £4.6m Sunderland forward Anichebe for £4.7m Stoke forward Crouch or £4.3m sell price Chelsea defender Ake for £4.4m Middlesborough CB Chambers who has been a recent target but each week issues have caused me difficulty in getting him in.
I have spent so much time cogitating between the 2. I hate the idea of 3 defenders all of whom could not play but I really wanted to get some more time to pass and hopefully more info regarding Ake so in the end I did the Anichebe for Crouch transfer. The idea of Ake being in the team sheet against Hull next week just doesn’t excite me if I transferred him out.

TEAM SELECTION
That couldn’t have been easier. Fletcher a CDM away to Spurs and 2 defenders who probably won’t play against title chasing teams were the easy bench options. Then a GK who’s injured as the other bench player.
THE BOOKIES VIEW
So I assumed Ake doesn’t play and Amat comes in. The average is as bad as it gets but the median isn’t too bad. Ideally I want at 3 players under £2.00
