Here’s our regular feature where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers who in the last 3 seasons none have finished outside the top 10k. The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection. A good week with 9 of the 10 having green arrows.

The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK SUMMARY
A very good week for the top 10 FPL managers. 9 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW21 was 86 compared to the average of 56. Thats 30 points and 54% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 106. The low score was 65. This continues with the theme of high spreads of 41 for the gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw a big improvement of 224k compared to the last gameweek of 300k. A improvement of rank of 76k. The best rank is 300 and the lowest 768k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that is improved to 139k compared to 146k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 7k. At the moment 4 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value is steady at £104.8m the same as last gameweek
If you’re interested my score was a good one of 90. Only 4 of the managers had a better gameweek score. My overall rank is now 255k compared to 432k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 177k. I’m still only ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £102.1m the same as the last gameweek. My total score is 1115 points.

Here’s a comparison with the how the top 10k overall rank average team looks like. The information is provided by the excellent site FPL discovery.
The top 10k average score was 71 compared to the Top FPL managers of 86.
The top 10 fpl managers I follow have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank. Here are the main ones:

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
I noticed that he’s been getting a few doubters on the forums recently well this week he put those doubters to rest with a score of 106
At present he has a 33k overall rank, an improvement in rank from the last gameweek of 75k. His total points are 1,183 after a good score of 106 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
He did 2 transfers this week so I imagine he’ll roll them over this week.
THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW21
Highest scorer
This is the next highest score to the one above at 103 points taking him to 4k
Lowest scorer
a low score of 65 although to be fair it just took him from around 100 overall to just short of 300 as he has been on a fantastic run.
Although it’s a bit difficult to compare due to the AOA chip used by the lowest score but again defence is the major factor and only a few players in attack make a big difference
There were 38 points between the 2 sides. 24 points of those came from defence. Kane made a points difference of 12 out of 14 points
TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM

As you can see there’s only 6 and one of them is a benchwarmer. That means there are alot of variable gaps to fill. This with the variable captain choices we’ve seen explains the wide range of scores and ranks. If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with over 50% then by that only Ibrahimovic and Sanchez are the essentials
