fantasy premier league GW23 – the FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW23 article where we outline the FFGeek team for GW23.  As usual we look at last week, the transfers, the team selection issues, the bookies odds and the captaincy.  We also add in a new GW26 and GW28 watch schedule

LAST WEEK

A score of 59 against the average of 46.  A green arrow of 31k and 224k overall.  £102.0 no money in the bank.

THE TRANSFERS

I’ll show the schedule later but my transfers started with thinking about GW26 and GW28.  Aspirationally I want to have a full team for each week.  With only 2 fixtures missing in GW26 that’s no issue.  With GW28 only being 3 fixtures at the moment and the PL teams all having winnable fixtures then 3 fixtures playing could actually be the end result.  In that case I needed to use all my 7 transfers on the 6 teams involved to put out a full team.  However I wanted some Spurs coverage and I needed to raise some cash.  Hazard was the natural sacrifice so he was going to go for Alli with 1 of Ake or Amat to go for a defender.  Aguero was the other cash raising option but with him having good fixtures and being fit I decided that he could be transferred later before GW26.  It means that I’m hoping at least 1 premier league team is knocked out in the 5th round FA Cup to give me a chance of a full compliment for GW28

So the transfer out was Hazard for Alli and Amat for Chris Brunt.  I would rather have put in Coleman or Baines but didn’t have the funds.  Brunt makes me nervous to some extent as last week he played left back in a 4-2-3-1 even with Nyom available as Evans was injured.  The nightmare scenario is that Nyom goes back to LB when Evans is fit and Brunt doesn’t move forward as Pulis is happy with the attacking midfield 3 being Chadli, Morrison and Phillips.  The other factor is the question of how useful 2 WBA defenders will be in GW28 away to Everton.    It also means that WBA playmaker Matt Phillips won’t make my team as I now have 3 WBA players.  However I’m going to run with it as Brunt has provided some excellent stats even from left back and has good fixtures. The other thought was a West Ham defender but they don’t seem value for money and have tricky fixtures.

THE TEAM SELECTION

With only 3 defenders likely to play due to Holebas’s suspension and Ake not being selected it was a pretty easy task.

Here’s the team:

Here’s my schedule so I can keep an eye on my team for these up coming fixtures

THE BOOKIES ODDS

Here’s how the bookies see my team from a clean sheet and anytime goal scoring perspective

So not great odds there.  So could be a tough week unless the big boys do well.

CAPTAIN

I will be doing a captain article but with the polls seemingly favouring Sanchez I’ll be sticking with him
