Here’s Spurs tweet on the Harry Kane injury:
Following preliminary assessments, we can confirm that @HKane has damaged ligaments in his left ankle, sustained during Sunday’s match.
He will continue to be monitored by our medical staff as he commences rehabilitation and is expected to return to training in early March.
This is how the Guardian amongst others reported the Alexander Arnold injury:
Trent Alexander-Arnold facing up to a month on the sidelines with a knee problem.
The 20-year-old sustained the injury during the warm-up at Brighton on Saturday. He was able to play the full 90 minutes of Liverpool’s 1-0 win but tests have revealed a minor ligament issue that is likely to rule out the right-back for around four weeks.
Keith’s transfers
This week I decided to make my transfers early as I was afraid of price rises and I was thinking about doing them anyway. Kane’s injury, now confirmed, over the weekend further let me know that I think it was time to make the jump. I still am afraid as I don’t have City cover; however, I am falling behind in some of my leagues and this is the time of the year where I will look at players now in two groups (6 game week and 9 game week chunks and start to prepare for the double and blank game weeks ahead).
Here’s my transfer plan which was written before the Alexander Arnold injury:
I will also have in the back of my mind GW25 as a very outside prospect of postponements for the BGW in 27.
The Everton – Man City game will have to be rescheduled and it looks like Tottenham (GW 27 v Burnley) probably will go through against Chelsea (GW 27 v Brighton) as they are leading (1-0) but that might even be in some debate going back to the Kane injury.
Also in GW 31 (FA Cup Quarters) there is only one fixture that is guaranteed to play at this point and that is Fulham v Liverpool and will be a tasty fixture but just something else in the back of my mind and hopefully it’s in the back of yours!
So after I had made the initial transfers of Aubameyang and Alisson in for Kane and Fabianski out, I then had to react to the Alexander Arnold injury. I have transferred him out for Luke Shaw for the 2 nice fixtures coming up and hopefully Man Utd’s improved defensive resolve. All for a minus 8 points.
I thought about it but decided not to wildcard this week and take the -8 instead. It’s a calculated risk for me as I think the blank and DGWs will need a wildcard plus planning this year.
Here’s how the team looks:
Hope you found this hopeful for your transfer decisions and good luck this week
