Here’s some early FFGeek team thoughts in this fantasy premier league GW24 article. We look at gameweek 23, some issues facing the team, transfer thoughts and early captain thinking
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GW24 – SOME EARLY THOUGHTS ON THE FFGEEK TEAM
If you read my blank (missing fixtures through postponements) and double (some teams play twice in the same gameweek) gameweeks article you’ll know there are potential blank and double gameweeks as follows:
GW28 – blank
GW31 – blank
GW34 – double
GW35 – blank
GW37 – double
If you also remember last week with my accidental use of the free hit chip I will be navigating the blanks and doubles with out it. However I converted one of the alternate FFGeek teams into my original team so you can see how I navigate the blanks with the free hit intact if you were using my original team as a reference point for yours.
I hope that makes sense and I hope it will be useful to people with different amounts of the chips left
GW23 PERFORMANCE – FREE HIT LOST TEAM

So I gained a miserable 1 point on the team that I would have made had I not hit the free hit button accidentally. The United attack, Pogba and Martial, apart were terrible as was Hazard and Sterling. Only Kane and Salah turned up and luckily 3 clean sheets helped it not being a disaster.

ISSUES WITH THE TEAM
I have 1 free transfer and £0.5m in the bank
So if you weren’t aware after the free hit the team reverts to the previous week with just the 1 transfer available. So the issues of last week turn out to be the issues of this week.
This week will be about Aguero though. With no Sanchez coming to City that means no replacement at the moment with a wounded City having Newcastle and WBA at home in consecutive gameweeks. Now Pep has a number of other games to play but they are talking about Jesus returning potentially for Man City v Basel which is on the 13 Feb after GW27. Pep may decide he can live with just Aguero to then.

The FA Cup has been kind to City so assuming he’s rested for that it does give Aguero 2 lots of 1 week rest so it could be worse.
My preferred route to get Aguero will be Morata and Richarlison out for Aguero and a cheap midfielder. I haven’t thought who that would be yet.
If I don’t transfer Aguero in then I may just roll the transfer over as the fixtures are good. Despite his abysmal performance against Leicester I’m willing to give Morata more time. Hopefully he wont play in the FA Cup replay at home to Norwich on Wednesday.
Ogbonna
I definitely don’t need a West Ham GK and defender so he will go for Jones I would think despite what was a pretty shaky clean sheet v a Stoke team led by Peter Crouch and Stephen Ireland..
Son HM
I am a massive fan but 2 Spurs attackers seems a bit much with the fixtures ahead.
Niasse
With Tosun having joined Everton he definitely needs to go.
CAPTAIN IDEAS
The captain poll will go up today hopefully.
The captain choice will be between Salah and Kane and the polls and my later captain article will play some part. If I get Aguero it will be to captain him. Sterling could come into the frame but the polls and some analysis will play a part in the choice
GW23 PERFORMANCE FREE HIT INTACT TEAM
This team is as if I didn’t make an accidental free hit ie the same as my original team. I will keep it to show how I would have navigated through the blanks with all the chips intact. I think that will be helpful for those who were using my original team as a reference point
