The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection. A bad gameweek with 8 of the managers having red arrows.

THE 10 MANAGERS FPL STATS
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK SUMMARY
A bad week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8 of the 10 had red arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW23 was 33 compared to the average of 35. Thats 2 points and 6% below the average score. The high score of the 10 was 40. The low score was 24. A low spread of 16 albeit in a low scoring gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw a worsening to 271k compared to the last gameweek of 236k. A worsening of rank of 35k. The best rank is around 400 and the lowest 899k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that worsened to 189k compared to 149k last gameweek. An worsening of rank of 40k. At the moment 4 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value sees a slight drop to £104.9 from £105m in the last gameweek
If you’re interested my score was an ok one of 35. Only 3 of the managers had a better gameweek score. My overall rank is now 228k compared to 224k last gameweek. A slight worsening of rank of 4k. I’m now ahead of 4 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £102.0m a small worsening of value from £102.1m gameweek. My total score is 1209 points.

The top 10k average score was 35 compared to the Top FPL managers of 33.
The top 10 fpl managers I follow have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank. Here they are:

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
At present he has a 22k overall rank, an improvement in rank of 4k from the last gameweek of 26k. His total points are 1,286 after a good score of 40 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
As predicted he rolled over his transfer. My prediction this week would be Lukaku for Benteke and Lallana for Phillips (if that works money wise?)

Lowest scorer
A low score of 24 which sees him fall to 899k. To show you how hard this season is his last 3 seasons scores are 2801, 623 and 987. That shows you what a difficult season it is even for the best managers
There’s only a difference of 15 points between them so I won’t try and reconcile it but suffice to say defence and GK accounted for 9 of those 15 points
TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM
Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. Those highlighted are where it’s different to my team. It’s unaffordable at around £109m but now I’m presenting it as a menu rather than an achievable team.
Here’s the core team of players owed by more than 50% of the FPL managers. The highlighted non grey ones are those above 50%
The core players are then 5 Ibra, Sanchez, Phillips, Alli and Alonso.
That means there are alot of variable gaps to fill. This helps to explain the wide range of scores
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that only Ibrahimovic and Sanchez are the essentials. To be fair Alli and Phillips aren’t far behind
