Fantasy premier league GW26 review – the best underlying stats from GW26

,

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW26 review where we look for the players and teams with the best underlying stats from GW26 only. It’s an easy way to check on how one of your FPL team performed in the gameweek.  You can also see how they are ranked in the previous few gameweeks to establish recent form

Fantasy premier league GW26 review – the best underlying stats from GW26

They are just for GW26 and not cumulative. It only includes selected players who started no subs.

The article is in 2 parts. We’ve started with the attacking stats for the players divided by position. Effectively we’ve taken their xG stats and their xA stats and converted them into FPL points and then ranked them. We don’t show the points but that’s how they’re ranked. It’s far more useful than just ranking them by xG and xA separately. I haven’t attempted to rank every player.

There’s shots and key passes so you get a volume perspective as well as a quality perspective.

There’s defender rankings although one off games don’t give a realistic picture. It’s better to look at cumulative stats

The 2nd part is just the ranking of team defensive and attacking performances which is the rank by xG and xG conceded. I’ve also included the GW26 fixtures so you can remind yourself who was playing if needed

The stats are all from the excellent free site understat.com. Player values are as of Monday 4 February.

Here’s the link to the google spreadsheet if you want it

Best midfielders in GW26

I’ve turned the xG and xA from GW26 only into theoretical FPL points and ranked them. Only attacking points no bonus or appearance points.

Their ranking for previous gameweeks is also included. If there is a blank it could mean they didn’t play or were a sub or I just didn’t include them for whatever reason.  This week I’ve tried to give reasons for absences or shown if they were a sub.  I’ve split it into 2 for the latter players.

  1. Really like the positional summary. Three of the things I’m looking for now are:
Plays advanced in relation to classification.
    Low ownership.
    Doesn’t blank.
    Great stuff. Thanks again..

  2. Im looking to dump Luiz this week and am Wildcarding GW30… I’m eyeing up 3 players as a replacement; Perreira of Leicester, Kolasinac of Arsenal or Schar of Newcastle. Newcastle’s next 2 are home ties with Huddersfield and Burnely followed by West Ham away, thats the attraction with a castle def… Perreira looks a longer term option given Leicesters fantastic run of fixtures upcoming. But Kol probably best attacking option with 2 fantastic immediate fixtures. Thoughts?

  3. Hey Ian, if you are look ing for short term I would go with Kola, for longer term I would go with Perreira , Schar will be my third option, anyway if you WC in 30 so it’s for only 3 games I would go with Kola, good luck

  4. Thank you Yaniv,

Yes I will probably go with Kol. I guess another advantage of bringing in Perreira is that he has guaranteed fixtures GW31 and 33 if I choose not to WC GW30…. in any case I will wait to see the FA cup results this weeknd.
