fantasy premier league GW26 wildcard tips – our imaginary wildcard

Fantasy Premier League, imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW26 wildcard tips where we pretend we have a wildcard to use.  It gives player tips with more longevity than just for the up coming gameweek

So firstly I personally wouldn’t use the 2nd wildcard if you’ve got it still I think there’s likely to be a big DGW to come still unless it becomes open season on conflicting with the dates of the European games and then anything could happen.

The imaginary wildcard team fits within my £101.8m budget (yes it’s that low).  Only having 4 games confirmed in GW28 makes the player choice very restricting.  It causes some risks though as there’s an absence of the big teams.  There’s no Arsenal and no Man Utd who have byes in GW26 and GW28.  There’s also no Spurs and only 1 Chelsea player due to the GW28 blanks.  In this article there are no stats just some brief narrative on the selection below.  There’s stats in the player ranking articles which can be found here using the links below

With the possibility of a Man City and Stoke DGW27 the wildcard team is set up to get the best out of that.  See the links to the articles on the subject below

DGW27 potential

Man City team focus

So I’ve set up the team to try and get full coverage over the 3 games as well as a reasonable amount of City players from the DGW.

In goal Jakupovic is good value in the improving Hull defence and Grant gives you the potential DGW27 coverage.

The defence keeps Alonso who seems like he will be in the team to the end.  In Brunt and Coleman you have 2 good attacking defenders and I’ve decided to have a punt on the Liverpool defence who I feel can improve given some of their underlying stats.  Stones is good value although everyone is a rotation risk.

In the midfield I’ve gone for Snodgrass over Antonio as he’s just better value which is the same reason for Firmino over Mane.  Sigurdsson is the perfect midfielder with all set pieces and penalties.  Barkley is a bit of a punt on improving his return from his underlying stats with Sunderland next.

Upfront Aguero is the captain for a potential DGW27.  Barnes is the makeweight.

GW26-28 assuming Man City win their FA Cup replay

As you can see it gives maximum coverage of the blank weeks
