THE 10 MANAGERS FPL STATS
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A mixed week for the top 10 FPL managers. 5 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW26 was 63 compared to the average of 45. Thats 18 points and 40% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 82. The low score was 50. A big spread of 32 for the gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw a slight worsening of rank to 204k compared to the last gameweek of 199k. A small worsening of rank improvement of rank of 5k. The best rank is less than 100 and the lowest 715k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that improved very slightly to 139k compared to 140k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 1k. At the moment 4 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value sees a slight improvement to £105.1 from £105.0m in the last gameweek
If you’re interested my score was poor at 50. Only 1 of the managers had a gameweek score that low. My overall rank is now 362k compared to 294k last gameweek. A worsening of rank of 68k. I’m now ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £101.5m. The same as the last gameweek. My total score is 1356 points.

The top 10k average score was 60 compared to the Top FPL managers of 63.

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
A good week. At present he has a 18k overall rank, an improvement in rank of 9k from the last gameweek of 27k. His total points are 1,473 after a good score of 73 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW26
Highest scorer
The highest scorer was 82 for our 2nd place of the top10 FPL managers and he’s who’s now ranked 5k
Lowest scorer
A low score of 50 sees this manager fall to 201k.
So during the season I’ve been taking a tale of defences, captains and 1 or 2 player differences making a huge difference. Here is a great example of the latter. 6 of the 11 starters are the same, same captain and only 3 points difference in defence. However 29 points difference in 2 players. Kane 20 pts vs Benteke 2 pts and Eriksen 11 points vs Phillips 0 pts. Now this is a bit of an exceptional case as the low scoring team has Ibra on the bench so the value comparison of the players isn’t fair but still. 2 players 29 points difference
By the way the lowest scoring manager this weeks last 3 years ranks are 9,575 and 197 and 3,138
TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM
Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. It’s slightly higher than my team value of £101.5m
Here’s the core team of players owed by more than 50% of the FPL managers. The highlighted non grey ones are those above 50%
The core players are then 7: Lukaku, Sigurdsson, Phillips, Alli, Mane, Coleman Brunt and Alonso. Starting to look like more of a template now which is understandable going into the blank weeks.
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that only Lukaku are essentials.
