The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred IN players so far in the gameweek.

Aguero

It’s not often you see a player being the most transferred in when he doesn’t have a game in that gameweek but that’s the case this week with Aguero.  He  has no game in GW27 as Man City play Chelsea in the EFL final this weekend which clashed  with their original GW27 fixture.

There’s no doubting his form.  Back to back hat tricks, incredible underlying stats plus consistent returns and penalty duties are all the positive points.  Rotation and his minutes when he starts are the negatives although he does seems to have established himself as the number 1 striker pick after Jesus put in a pretty stern challenge recently.  With City fighting for trophies on all 4 fronts then expect the odd benching and the early substitutions to continue.

Man City won’t have a fixture in GW31 either as they are through to the clashing FA Cup quarter finals.  That game could be postponed to GW32 or GW35.  If we don’t hear before the GW27 deadline then I suspect we won’t until after the quarters.

GW28   West Ham (H)
GW29   Bournemouth (A)
GW30   Watford (H)

GW32   Fulham (A)

Son HM

You know that Son must be in good form when for the weekend games when the bookies have Harry Kane is £1.91 to score and Son is only marginally back at £2.00.

It’s a mind boggling 11 goals and 6 assists in his last 12 starts and he’s only not returned in 1 of those games.  That is just incredible form.

This is all backed up by excellent underlying stats and he’s actually playing as one of a pair of strikers to make it even better.

Spurs don’t have a fixture in GW31 as Palace who are their opponents are through to the quarters.  That game is likely to be postponed to GW32 or GW35.

GW28 Chelsea (A)
GW29 Arsenal (H)
GW30 Southampton (A)

GW32 Liverpool (A)

Pogba

It’s hard to imagine a change of manager having more of an effect on a player than Mourinho’s departure and Solskjaer arrival.

Going from 2 games as an unused suvstitute at the end of Mourinho’s tenure to 9 games under Solskjaer for 8 goals and 6 assists with 13 bonus points thrown in as part of his 10.2 points per game over that period.  It’s also worth mentioning that 8 of those 9 games saw him play 90 minutes and only the impending UCL match v PSG proably prevented him from doing it against Fulham when the game was won.

This run is no fluke.  His underlying stats are fantastic and it doesn’t seem to matter whether he’s an LM in a midfield 3 of 4-3-3 or a CAM in 4-2-3-1.

He’s suspended for the UCL 2nd leg which will help his PL gametime especially if Man Utd are knocked out.

Felipe Anderson

1 assist in the last 7 isn’t anything that would suggest that a player would be on this list at all.  However anyone playing Fulham next tends to draw a crowd of transfers and that and the fixtures afterwards are really the only explanation you can give to Anderson being on this list.

I guess you could say that, fundamentally,  he is a class act and that he is a very good finisher but he really isn’t shooting enough or producing enough chances for others to see  output at the other end.

This is all about fixtures and the fact that he has a guaranteed fixture in big blank week of GW31.

GW27 Fulham (H)
GW28 Man City (A)
GW29 Newcastle (H)
GW30 Cardiff (A)
GW31 Huddersfield (H)
GW32 Everton (H)

Lacazette

Interesting to see that 2 players who were sent off in last weeks European games are on this list.  Pogba being the first and Lacazette who was sent off in Belarusia against Bate.

That should help his starting position over the coming week or 2 although I understand it’s only a 1 week suspension but the information isn’t that helpful on the matter.

Lacazette is interesting as he is a remarkably consistent returner which belies his pretty ordinary underlying stats his and his rather sketchy minutes.  Aubameyang, quite rightly in my view, has become Emery’s main threat.

What makes Lacazette so consistent is that he is a deadly finisher.  Pretty much every season he over performs his underlying shooting stats as he is doing this season.  Unlike Aubameyang when he does play though it’s as a CF or a striker in a pair with Aubameyang

Arsenal have no game in GW31 as their opponent in that gameweek, Wolves, have progressed to the clashing FA Cup quarter finals.  That game is likely to be postponed to GW32 or GW35.

GW28 Bournemouth (H)
GW29 Spurs (A)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

Aubameyang

Aubameyang top of the transfers out is as much as a surprise as Aguero being top of the transfers in when Aguero isn’t playing in GW27.

Aubameyang has 2 home games against Southampton and Bournemouth next.  He may not be the most consistent returner but his overall returns are very good and no player in FPL has more bonus points than him.   His underlying stats are excellent and he also has pens.

He was ill against Huddersfield in GW26 but we know he came on as sub v Bate in the Europa League.  He also has to play in the 2nd leg v Bate with Lacazette suspended and Arsenal behind in the tie.  That will be a good pointer to his fitness.  Also Arsenal have had no game on the FA Cup weekend so the rest, you would think, would negate any need for rotation vs Southampton.

Arsenal have no game in GW31 as their opponent in that gameweek, Wolves, have progressed to the clashing FA Cup quarter finals.  That game is likely to be postponed to GW32 or GW35.

GW27 Southampton (H)
GW28 Bournemouth (H)
GW29 Spurs (A)
GW30 Man Utd (H)

GW32 Newcastle (H)

Sane

Sane, after being so crucial as the player giving left sided width in Mendy’s absence suddenly seems to have fallen foul of Pep which is not where you want to have any of your FPL players.

He was unused vs Arsenal and Chelsea and only lasted 58 minutes v Everton.  What is a worse sign is that he started v Newport along side perennial reserves Mahrez and Jesus.

There’s nothing wrong with his returns or form but add this to the fact that Man City have no game in GW27 then you have a recipe for mass sales.  If he’s benched for the EFL final on the weekend of GW27 that could be the final nail in the coffin for an extended PL bench spell.

Man City won’t have a fixture in GW31 either as they are through to the clashing FA Cup quarter finals.  That game could be postponed to GW32 or GW35.  If we don’t hear before the GW27 deadline then I suspect we won’t until after the quarters.

Richarlison

A player on a wretched run.  1 return in his last 7 starts and in his last 8 starts you would say that 4 of those games were pretty abysmal.  That includes the last 2 starts which even put abysmal in the shade.  He’s also pretty one dimensional as a goal scoring midfielder and offering little assist wise.

The fact that he’s 22nd in my form table for midfielders underlying stats in his last 10 appearances says alot.

Add to the fact that he’s got no game in the upcoming GW27 and it’s a recipe for transfers out.

Everton’s game in GW31 relies on the outcome of the 5th round FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Man Utd tonight.  Should Chelsea lose then Everton would have a game in GW31 which maybe attractive to those FPL managers who currently hold Richarlison and want to navigate GW31 through transfers rather than a chip.

GW27 None
GW28 Cardiff (A)
GW29 Liverpool (H)
GW30 Newcastle (A)
GW31 Chelsea (H) (only if Chelsea lose in 5th Rd FA Cup)
GW32 West Ham (A)

Hazard

The stats may all look pretty good on an overall basis.  My form chart has him 3rd in the last 10 appearances for underlying stats.  However those form stats have been propped up by 5 very good games within those 10 and the reality is only 2 returning games in the last 7 is a pretty appalling situation for someone costing near on 11 million.

The situation with Chelsea, the 4-0 loss to Bournemouth and the 6-0 loss to Man City isn’t a great backdrop and it’s hard to have faith in someone within that context.

That’s before you look at the fact that he has no game in GW27.

Chelsea’s game in GW31 will remain if they lose their 5th round FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Man Utd tonight.  Should Chelsea lose then they would have a game in GW31 which maybe attractive to those FPL managers who currently hold Hazard and want to navigate GW31 through transfers rather than a chip.

GW27 None
GW28 Spurs (H)
GW29 Fulham (A)
GW30 Wolves (H)
GW31 Everton (A)
GW32 Cardiff (A)

Alonso

Alonso’s goal and 5 assists in his opening 4 games seems as far away now as the warm weather that was happening at the same time.  He’s now on a run of 14 starts with no attacking return and was dropped for the loss to Bournemouth only to return as Emerson was made the scapegoat for the humiliating 4-0 loss.

What’s more is that although he’s had some bad luck with hitting the woodwork, the fact remains that my form tables for attacking defenders sees him at 21st in the rankings.

With Chelsea having no game in GW27 it’s an opportune time to transfer him out.

Chelsea’s game in GW31 will remain if they lose their 5th round FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Man Utd tonight.  Should Chelsea lose then they would have a game in GW31 which maybe attractive to those FPL managers who currently hold Alonso and want to navigate GW31 through transfers rather than a chip.
