Introduction

Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 4 seasons overall ranks are 17k, 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW27 after Sunday

GW27 points so far: 39 (FPL average 37) Total points 1,766, Overall Rank: 41k, red arrow 6k.  Team Value: £104.3m

I’ve used my Free Hit Chip and the Bench Boost Chip

Here’s the points after Sundays games:

So 39 points for a 6k overall rank drop to 41k.  My gamble of swapping Fernandes to Son didn’t work.  Fernandes scored 10 points despite only having 1 shot (the penalty) and 1 key pass.

Son despite a 4-1 win only got the 1 assist for 5 points so I was 5 points out.  So, in my defence,  my theory was right in that I expected Fernandes not to get many chances against the City defence and for Palace to be hammered by Spurs but unfortunately the ability of Man Utd to get penalties was my undoing.

However the situation is possibly going to be worse in that City losing and Liverpool losing possibly cut Man City and Liverpool via Salah out of contention for the captain favourite vote for GW28.  The only alternative to Fernandes being the captain favourite is Kane although him up against Arsenal possibly could keep him away from being favourite.  I actually have faith in the West Ham defence but it will be interesting to see how they get on against Leeds tonight.

Shaw’s 14 points on the bench isn’t helpful either but it was his first goal in 2 years and using the bookies odds Man Utd were £6.50 for the clean sheet,

Transfer thoughts

1 free transfer and £1.6m in the bank.

My plan is to wildcard in GW30 and use my triple captain chip when Spurs have a double gameweek for the postponed Spurs v Southampton game which has yet to be rescheduled along with the Aston Villa v Everton game in the same boat.

GW29

There are 4 fixtures only in GW29.  I have the following players for these fixtures:

Martinez

Dallas, Coufal

Son, Lookman, Raphinha

Kane, Bamford

That’s 8 players plus 2 transfers before GW29 =  10 players

Ideally I’d carry over the free transfer to have  the maximum flexibility for GW29.

Possible transfers

However I am going to see how the captain polls play out before I make any decisions.  I may have to react if Fernandes is an overwhelming captain favourite.  I won’t put a poll up until Thursday morning.  It’s a Friday evening gameweek so it will be a short fire poll that’s for sure.

I’m thinking for GW29 maybe a Brighton defender v Newcastle or Antonio v Arsenal or some sort of Spurs triple up against Villa.

I’ll put up a final team article on Friday I expect.

Captain thoughts

As I said the polls will be my decision maker but if I’m dealing with the hand I’ve got it’s likely to be Kane v Arsenal.

Lineup

A difficult lineup because Leeds play Chelsea and West Ham play Man Utd plus Fulham play Man City.  Those fixtures making it tricky for Dallas, Raphinha, Bamford, Coufal and Lookman.  5 players I’d like to Bench.  Unfortunately all the players mentioned have a fixture in GW29 so they’re not really transferable out.

Here’s the team assuming no transfer is made
