THE 10 MANAGERS FPL STATS
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again this season.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A mixed week for the top 10 FPL managers. 5 of the 10 had green arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW27 was 75 compared to the average of 50. Thats 25 points and 50% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 103. The low score was 62. A big spread of 41 for the gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers saw a reasonable improvement of rank to 179k compared to the last gameweek of 204k. An average rank improvement of rank of 25k. The best rank is less than 100 and the lowest 704k. A couple of scores are distorting the average. If you calculated the median rank then that improved very slightly to 138k compared to 139k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 1k. At the moment 4 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value sees a slight improvement to £105.2 from £105.1m in the last gameweek
If you’re interested my score was reasonably good at 79. Only 2 of the managers had a gameweek higher score. My overall rank is now 255k compared to 362k last gameweek. An improvement of rank of 107k. I’m now ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £101.9m. An improvement from the last gameweek of £101.5m. My total score is 1435 points.

The top 10k average score was 66 compared to the Top FPL managers of 75.

FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
A good week. At present he has a 13k overall rank, an improvement in rank of 5k from the last gameweek of 18k. His total points are 1,548 after a good score of 79 this gameweek. Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN DGW27
Highest scorer
The highest scorer was 103 for what has been one of the lower placed managers. He’s who’s now ranked 171k
Lowest scorer
A low score of 62 sees this manager fall to 233k.
So during the season I’ve been taking a tale of defences, captains and 1 or 2 player differences making a huge difference.
Well these 2 teams are the exception that I’ll try and paint as proving the rule. Only 4 of the 11 starters are the same which is unusual considering a template of sorts is starting. The captain is also the same. The different formations slightly confuse things however. 13 points were different in defence despite the low scoring team playing 1 more defender. However that was pretty much all Pieters. Then 4 players in the attack made a difference of 28 points. These teams are quite different so not too much to be learned there.
By the way the lowest scoring manager this weeks last 3 years ranks are 9,575 and 197 and 3,138
TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM

Here’s the core team of players owed by more than 50% of the FPL managers. The highlighted non grey ones are those above 50%
The core players are then 8: Aguero, Lukaku, Sigurdsson, Sterling, Mane, Coleman, Brunt and Alonso. Starting to look like more of a template now which is understandable going into the blank and double weeks.
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that only Lukaku is essential although Aguero is close.
