As noted in my article last week if given unlimited transfers my plan was to treat it as a proxy free hit by Bench Boosting gw30, then Wildcarding GW31. I will be Bench Boosting, though I am now considering a Free Hit in GW31 before wildcarding in GW32, allowing more time to observe form and fitness.
Gw30 teams
My GW30 team is focused on the double gameweek teams with Man City, Arsenal, Villa and Sheffield United players. I will need at least 3 single gameweek players and propose to choose from Liverpool plus due to fixtures a combination of Wolves (v West Ham), Southampton (v Norwich) and Leicester (v Watford).
Key players
In terms of my team I plan to pick the following five players:
Alexander Arnold, De Bruyne, Grealish, Aguero and Aubameyang. Additionally I want two keepers with doubles and at least two defenders from Sheffield United.
Team value
My team value is reasonable at £104.1m. I have money tied up in Alexander Arnold, De Bruyne and Aubameyang but I want them in my team anyway. I also have £0.1m in Boly and Calvert-Lewin, which isn’t significant enough to sway me to retain either. I know many have money tied up in Mane and Salah, but luckily that is not a constraint/consideration for me.
Draft team
At the moment I’ve picked Mane giving me four big hitters, which means I’ve searched for a few bargains e.g. Nketiah, Fleck and Saka. Switching Mane to a Man City attacker (forcing a switch from Ederson to most likely Leno) would allow a better spread of funds e.g. Mane to Mahrez, Nketiah to Ings and Targett to Chilwell.
Hopefully we’ll get some clear news on the double gameweekers early next week to allow a more informed choice.
Enjoy your tinkering everyone!

So after 3 months without a ball being kicked! I’ve been making transfers during the lockdown purely based on gut feel! I really like my team now so bizarrely I am going to ignore the unlimited transfers and use my final chip (Free Hit) to go big on the Double Gameweek players and then return to my ‘lockdown’ team which looks amazing for GW31+.
Onto my Free Hit team. I’m going big and targeting the teams with 2 fixtures. Those being Man City, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Sheffield United. Free Hit also suits me as I really don’t want triple Sheffield United/Aston Villa/Arsenal beyond this Double Gameweek. So I’ve covered the main Double Gameweek players in the Sheffield defence and Man City attack and then gone with some ‘gut feel’ differentials who have performed: McGinn was excellent before his injury, Lacazette has shown he can score even coming off the bench and Lord Lundstram, whilst his place is not secure I’m happy to punt on his upside for the Double Gameweek.
Good luck everyone.
