Sane

It’s rare to see a player who’s blanked in the gameweek to be top of the transfers in although I suspect the 13 FPL pointer v Arsenal has given him this head of steam.  He’s started the last 2 and played 90 minutes after returning from a 3 game injury lay off.

Over the season, Sane has started 19 games plus 5 sub appearances for 8 goals and 11 assists.  He’s been pretty consistent returning a goal or assist in 11 of those games.  That really is something when within it is 7 double figure FPL point hauls.  His underlying stats are very good too and as the returns suggest he is an all rounder which means you very rarely see underlying stats for a game which don’t meet an acceptable standard from either a goal threat or a assist threat perspective.  At £8.5m he’s pretty good value for money as well.

Great fixture next but a blank GW31.

Son HM

Funny how things change.  1 minute you’ve blanked in 4 consecutive starts, become a sub magnet, start in FA Cup games against very lower league opposition, then you’re on the bench and the 2 principal competitors for your place are on the pitch before you.  It’s a fairly bleak picture and you’re rather unsurprisingly 3rd in the sales behind 2 very highly owned players who are injured as he was in the last gameweek.  Or in other words the most form related sold player in the gameweek.  90 minutes later you’ve scored 2 against Huddersfield and got 16 FPL points and everything is rosy in the Son garden once again.  To be fair to him within those 4 blank games there were a couple of performances that could have given you hope but it was some turnaround v Huddersfield.

The fact still remains though with Spurs fighting on 3 fronts and Lamela and Moura able to take the 3rd AM position rotation is certainly a risk.  However it’s now rotation more than replacement.

In terms of the basics he’s started 21 games plus 7 as sub.  He’s scored 10 goals and 5 assists although he hasn’t been the most consistent only returning in 7 of those games with 5 of them being double figure FPL hauls.  Fantastic underlying stats though.  You do need patience to own him is the however.

B Davies

The Spurs left back has taken advantage of another Danny Rose injury spell to play the last 9 in the premier league and over the season he’s got 2 goals and 6 assists and certainly is up there among the defenders with the best underlying attacking stats.

The issue though is that Danny Rose maybe injury prone and a bit loose with the mouth for the Spurs hierarchy  but he is no mug as a left back and with Spurs in 3 competitions  Davies will be rotated as Poch has shown when he’s had both LBs fit.

Murray

Rather than seeing new signing Locadia leap frog him into the forward starting position the signing seems to have inspired Murray to greater heights.  5 goals in his last 5 games says it all.  2 of those may have been penalties and I wouldn’t say the underlying stats particularly screamed out that amount of goals but it still a fairly impressive run.  11 goals in 19 starts plus 8 as sub is a pretty decent return even if penalty assisted with 4 goals coming from the spot.

Everton (A)

Leicester (H)

Willian

The only limitation on Willian is gametime.  In 3-4-3 he’s probably the favourite to take the 3rd spot over Pedro.  In 3-5-2- though it’s likely to be Hazard paired with Morata/ Giroud.

Over the season it’s 14 starts and 13 sub appearances for 5 goals and 7 assists.  You can see from above that when on the pitch his returns are very good and for the price his underlying stats also match up.  As I said it’s all about gametime and worse than that it’s part formation related and not just to do with form

fantasy premier league GW30 transfer tips

Sterling

The guys form this season speaks for itself.  This is about missing from the last 2 games due to injury although Pep has said very little on it for the last game and Sterling has been pictured in training so who knows how those 2 facts stitch together?  I’m surprised that given the next fixture is against Stoke and we are in Monday so many FPL managers are in such a rush to push the transfer out button

Stoke (A)

Everton (A)
Man Utd (H)

P Jones

The Man Utd CB really is made of glass.  An injury described as a knock with no return date given as yet.  Hard to pick any defensive representation from Man Utd at the moment with only Valencia and De Gea seemingly nailed until we have all 4 CBs competing for a place are fit.

Liverpool (H)
Blank GW31
Swansea (H)
Man City (A)

Mkhitaryan

His first start for Arsenal saw 3 assists in the win over Everton but since then it’s all gone horribly wrong with 3 consecutive blanks and little in the way of underlying stats to give you some comfort.  Now 2 games were v Man City and Spurs but the abject performance of him and the team v Brighton certainly didn’t help his cause with FPL managers.

However even given all that and the now prioritisation of the Europa League I’m not sure I’d be rushing to take him out given it’s Watford next.

Watford (H)

Stoke (H)
Southampton (H)

Monreal

A back injury has kept the LB/LCB out for the last 2 matches and it seems quite possibly 1 more.  I’d personally be tempted to see what the situation is at the end of the week as Watford at home isn’t really an ideal selling point from my perspective.  I expect £5.8m Kolasinac to play LB if Monreal is injured although Mustafi at £5.4m is a cheaper replacement option if you’re that way inclined although Mustafi is not the same attacking force.  Even in their current defensive malaise and  no clean sheet since GW18 there are 3 good fixtures ahead

Watford (H)
Blank GW31
Stoke (H)
Southampton (H)

Walcott

If Walcott had just been able to finish off some great chances in the first half of the Burnley game then I wouldn’t be writing this I’m sure.  Like Mkhitaryan after a great start with 2 goals and an assist in his first 2 starts it’s now turned to 4 consecutive blanks.  The underlying stats against Palace and Watford were terrible but those in his first 3 games and v Burnley they were actually good.  Certainly his Arsenal career was full of good underlying stats.  I’m also not sure I’d take him out when it’s Brighton at home next and then he’s in one of the 8 teams with a fixture in the big blank week of GW31.

Stoke (A)
Man City (H)
Liverpool (H)
