The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred IN players so far in the gameweek.

fantasy premier league GW31 tips

Wilson

Bournemouth have a guaranteed fixture in GW31 and GW33 but won’t have any DGWs

After being out with an injury for 6 gameweeks the Bournemouth striker returned for for an 11 point goal and assist performance vs the hapless Huddersfield.  He also, impressively, played the full 90 minutes which is positive for the weeks ahead.

That’s 3 goals in his last 3 starts and those 3 games have put him 2nd in my last 10 gameweek form charts.  His overall returns have been good and for the price he’s been an amazingly consistent returner.  This is partly because of his ability to get assists as well as score.  For forwards only Lacazette has more FPL assists.

Probably the one negative is that his underlying shooting stats aren’t that great and volume wise at 2.3 per game it’s quite low. However that low shooting volume does help with bonus points and he’s already got 11 goals and  16 bonus points which is a reasonably healthy number.

A great set of fixtures to come

GW31  Newcastle (H)
GW32  Leicester (A)
GW33  Burnley (H)
GW34  Brighton (A)
GW35  Fulham (H)
GW36  Southampton (A)

Fraser

Bournemouth have a guaranteed fixture in GW31 and GW33 but won’t have any DGWs

A notable stat of the midfielder Ryan Fraser recently is that he had become only the fifth player in Europe’s top five leagues to register 10+ assists this season.  It’s also been flung around that the Fraser to Wilson assist combination has produced the most goals out of any assist to goal partnership in the premier league.

No coincidence then that when Wilson has been out for 7 of the last of the 8 games prior to GW30 that Fraser went through a barren spell of no assists and (perhaps unrelated) no goals.

His goal and assist 13 FPL point performance v Huddersfield in GW30 has generated alot of interest and he is the 2nd most transferred in player.

That barren spell prior to GW30 has really affected his position in my form charts but if you believe the special arrangement with Wilson then that is irrelevant noW that Wilson is fit.  If you were also looking for negatives you would mention his underlying shooting stats which are frankly awful.  However Fraser has shown the ability in the last 3 seasons (including this one so far) that he can massively out perform those underlying stats.

Believing those 2 points are crucial to a decision to get him in.

Adding to the positive side are excellent fixtures

GW31  Newcastle (H)
GW32  Leicester (A)
GW33  Burnley (H)
GW34  Brighton (A)
GW35  Fulham (H)
GW36  Southampton (A)

Vardy

Leicester have guaranteed games in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW33 but no DGWs

Forward Vardy so excelled in the Leicester counter attack system that the appointment of known possession based manager Rodgers seemingly made a bad fit.  Well it’s been anything but.  Rodgers has started a more pressing style than Puels ponderous possession and chopping and changing of personnel.  In Rodgers first 3 games Vardy has produced 31 FPL points (including 7 bonus points) via 4 goals and an assist.

It’s also a decent run of fixtures to come

GW31 Burnley (A)
GW32 Bournemouth (H)
GW33 Huddersfield (A)
GW34 Newcastle (H)
GW35 West Ham (A)
GW36 Arsenal (H)

Mane

Liverpool have guaranteed games in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW33 but no DGWs

Mane is on an absolutely astonishing run of form with 8 goals in his last 8 games returning in 6 of those 8 games.

It’s now a incredible 16 goals and 2 assists in his 27 starts.  This run has been backed up by excellent underlying stats.  He also now seems to have righted the bonus point problem he had last season.  On 200 minutes more than a full season in 17/18 he’s got 18 bonus points compared to then 8.

If you got the magnifying glass out to try and find negatives you would say his season consistency stats are poor for the price and he did have a 4 game blank streak earlier in the season.  How relevant that is on current form though is questionable.

GW31 Fulham (A)
GW32 Spurs (H)
GW33 Southampton (A)
GW34 Chelsea (H)
GW35 Cardiff (A)
GW36 Huddersfield (H)

Hazard

Chelsea have guaranteed games in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW33.  They also have a postponed game yet to be played v Brighton (H).  That is likely to be GW32.

Much like I said about Son last week and I’ll say about Hazard now.  Over the season everything looks pretty rosy.  Good returns and good consistency.  Even pretty decent underlying stats and he also has penalty duties.  There’s also the feelgood factor of a sensational last minute equaliser against Wolves.

However things are not all that rosy when you look at recent form.  In the last 10 games he’s got 49 points which in itself isn’t a disaster but those points are propped up by 25 points in 2 games meaning 24 points in the other 8.  Half the underlying stats over that period have been mind bogglingly bad.

All is definitely not right there.

However due to the participants in blank 31, Hazard is a luxury buy in a gameweek where you should be able to afford him without too much sacrifice elsewhere.

You do this knowing that he can produce a double figure performance at any time.  Unfortunately he can as easily produce a totally anonymous one

The fixtures don’t reflect the likely DGW32 for Chelsea mentioned above

GW31 Everton (A)
GW32 Cardiff (A)
GW33 West Ham (H)
GW34 Liverpool (A)
GW35 Burnley (H)
GW36 Man Utd (A)

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

fantasy premier league GW31 tips

Preamble

You will see from the schedule above that all of the sinking ships do not have a game in GW31 which will be a part of the reason for their transfer out.  Some FPL managers will have the ability to get them back through their free hit chip and or their wildcard.  Their decision to sell may depend on the extra cash they have to pay if they wish to buy them back.  Those without a wildcard and/or a free hit chip will view the transfer out possibility differently.

Son HM

Spurs have no fixture in blank 31 and could have no fixture in GW33 if their GW33 opponents Brighton win their FA Cup quarter final at Millwall.  That would increase the DGWs for Spurs to 2.

Son’s goes from FPL midfielder playing as a striker and scoring for fun to 3 consecutive blanks and being benched for Moura in GW30 concluding a swift and massive fall from grace.  The good season stats hide the fact that the last 4 gameweeks have produced 3 shots and 3 key passes in total.

Here’s the fixtures no double gameweeks announced as yet.

GW31 None
GW32 Liverpool (A)
GW33 Brighton (H) (STFAC)
GW34 Huddersfield (H)
GW35 Man City (A)
GW36 West Ham (H)

Pogba

Man Utd have no fixture in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW32 but have double gameweeks announced in DGW32 and DGW35

It’s now 4 games which produced 1 assist, a missed penalty and a total of 8 FPL points.  The last 2 gameweeks have seen horrendous underlying stats and the shooting volumes have also fallen off a cliff in those 4 games.  True they have had Arsenal and Liverpool in those 4 games but still but it’s hard to know where it’s all gone wrong.

I personally don’t think it’s position as he has played as a CM in a midfield 3 or 4 successfully.

GW31 None
GW32 Watford (H)
GW32 Wolves (A)
GW33 None
GW34 West Ham (H)
GW35 Everton (A)
GW35 Man City (H)
GW36 Chelsea (H)

Aguero

Man City have no game in the blank GW31 and will have none in GW33 if they beat Swansea away in the FA Cup quarter final.  They already have a DGW announced in GW35 and an FA Cup win will likely mean another likely in GW32

18 goals and 9 assists for the season and 8 goals and an assist in his last 7 games including 2 hat tricks it’s been business as usual for the City striker.

He has had some minutes issues and is always a rotation risk but when on the pitch he has been massively reliable.  The blank 31 and a disappointing 1 assist return vs the Sterling hat trick are probably the reasons for the sales

GW31 None
GW32 Fulham (A)
GW33 Cardiff (H) (STFAC)
GW34 Crystal Palace (A)
GW35 Spurs (H)
GW35 Man Utd (A)
GW36 Burnley (A)

Rashford

Man Utd have no fixture in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW32 but have double gameweeks announced in DGW32 and DGW35

Rashford has now quietly gone 5 gameweeks without a return although to be fair he was rested 1 game and a 13 minute sub in another.  His underlying stats have largely held up and as a striker in a top 6 team he is good value even if it is always possible he could be switched to the flanks in a 3 with Lukaku back in form

GW31 None
GW32 Watford (H)
GW32 Wolves (A)
GW33 None
GW34 West Ham (H)
GW35 Everton (A)
GW35 Man City (H)
GW36 Chelsea (H)

Jimenez

Wolves have no fixtures in the blank weeks of GW31 and GW33.  They have a DGW32 confirmed and are likely to have another, Probably in GW35 with a postponed game in hand.

Jimenez has been an incredibly consistent returner and been more than worth his value.  His recent form has even added to that with 6 goals and 2 assists in his last 8 games.  His underlying stats, particularly in recent times have also been very good.

His sale will only be related to blank weeks and possibly for those with no cash tied up in him.

GW31 None
GW32 Burnley (A)
GW32 Man Utd (H)
GW33 None
GW34 Southampton (A)
GW35 Brighton (H)
GW36 Watford (A)

  1. Do we know anything about when the playing of the postponed fixtures do get announced? I assume that the clubs involved would like more than a couple of days notice….

  2. Expected to be announced on Sunday after the fa cup quarter finals.

Five games most likely to be added into a double gameweek 32 could be .. Wolves v Man Utd, Chelsea v Brighton, Spurs v Palace, Watford v Southampton, Man City v Cardiff….

  3. Stirling was in the Top 5 transferred in till today i think – still in 6th place
Transferred in by around 60,000 people, with no game this week.

The Casual is strong in these ones…
