These are the 5 most transferred IN players so far in the gameweek.

Preamble

Those who are free hitting will know that the transfers are for this week only and your team will revert back to its GW31 team.  I suspect there are a fair number of free hitters which will give a less than transparent picture of the actual permanent transfers in and out.  It’s worth bearing this in mind when reading this article.

Sterling

Man City have a double gameweek in 32 and 35 but no game in 33.

15 goals and 13 assists in 23 matches and 5 goals and 3 assists in the last 6 matches which included 2 sub appearances.  Top of my last 10 form charts as well.

He also has a double gameweek with fixtures that couldn’t be much better if they were planned.

However with an FA Cup semi final on the following Saturday followed by a Tuesday UCL match v Spurs the risk of rotation is high.  He has had quite regular rests this season with 3 games on the bench where he didn’t get off it and 3 sub appearances.

It’s impossible to guess what Pep will do you just have to accept the risk when picking him.

Mane

Liverpool have no double gameweeks and no blank weeks

Mane is in red hot form although the transfer is a bit of a surprise when you consider that Liverpool only have 1 game in this gameweek and that is home to Spurs.  So not an easy one and for those looking to gamble on the teams with 2 games he looks a possible miss.

9 goals and 1 assist in his last 9 games says it all though.  He’s also producing the underlying stats to back this up.

With no FA Cup distractions and premier league midweek matches you have to think he is one of the lesser minutes and rotation risks in the top 6.

Jimenez

Wolves have a double gameweek in 32 and 35 but no game in 33.

Jimenez is another player in excellent form. 6 goals and 2 assists in his last 8 backed up by excellent underlying stats.  Incredibly no player has amassed more bonus points over the season than his 27.

The issue with Jimenez for GW32 is that the 2 games in G32 are Saturday and Tuesday followed by an FA Cup Semi final against Watford on the following Sunday.  2 clear days between the Premier League games when Wolves have nothing left to play for in the league except hope 7th position gives them a Europa League place means we could see rotation in either of the games.

It’s whether you think the potential reward is worth that risk.

Aguero

Man City have a double gameweek in 32 and 35 but no game in 33.

18 goals and 9 assists so far this season and a consistency return rate of 71% are pretty good stats.

His main issue is his average minutes played.  He’s only got to 90 minutes 7 times this season and his last 10 average is 76 minutes.

I would also say that in the last 5 games if you strip out penalties then, Chelsea, apart his underlying stats have dropped off somewhat from their overall excellent standard.

The same rotation risks I outlined with Sterling above also are applicable to Aguero.  However Aguero will not play for his country over the International break whereas his understudy Jesus will be playing for Brazil.  That has to be a big plus for minutes over GW32.  Also has penalty duties.

Rashford

Man Utd have a double gameweek in 32 and 35 but no game in 33.

It’s probably fair to start with the fact that Rashford appears to be struggling over the International Break with an ankle injury.  That needs monitoring I would suggest for GW32.

Interestingly Lukaku has been sent back to Utd for treatment and Martial is also out of the Internationals.  How that plays out for GW32 remains to be seen but on the plus side it raises the chances of Rashford, if fit, playing CF.  Although on the negative side how much attacking support he has is questionable.

On the less positive side it is 5 gameweeks since we’ve seen a return although there was a no show and a 13 minute sub appearance in there and some decent underlying stats in some of the games to mitigate the run.

The Sinking Ships

These are the 5 most transferred OUT players so far in the gameweek.

Salah

Liverpool have no double gameweeks and no blank weeks

With Liverpool playing Spurs and only having the 1 game in GW32 alot of free hitters, at the very least, will be taking the opportunity to use the funds, at least temporarily, to fill their playing 11 with players from those teams playing twice.

With 1 assist in his last 5 he’s in pretty poor form in any case.  The underlying stats over the last 10 are still pretty good but his last 5 games have seen his average underlying stats running at about half his season average which is not helpful.

So there is an issue with his current form it’s just whether it’s temporary or permanent.  Has pen duties when Milner is off the field.

Anderson

West Ham have no double gameweeks and no blank weeks

Not having a double gameweek and 2 assists in your last 12 games isn’t going to endear yourself to anyone and being in the most transferred out top 5 is no surprise.

The fact that he is 70th of all midfielders in our underlying stats last 10 gameweeks form chart also says alot.

The upcoming fixtures certainly aren’t an attraction

Vardy

Leicester have no double gameweeks and no blank weeks

With Bournemouth and Huddersfield next I’d like to think there are alot of free hitters in this who are getting him back for the upcoming fixtures as I’d otherwise hope I had bench room for him.

4 goals and 1 assist in 4 games since Rodgers joined is great form and he seems to have adjusted to a more pressing style positively.  The underlying stats over those 4 games have on average been good.  Also has penalty duties.

GW33 Huddersfield (A)
GW34 Newcastle (H)
GW35 West Ham (A)

Son

Spurs have a double gameweek in 32 and 35 but no game in 33.

When you’re in the top 5 transferred out players before a double game week then you know things must be going badly.  4 consecutive blanks and relegated to the subs bench for Spurs last game in GW30.  3 shots total in those 4 games and 3 key passes and barely any xG and xA show that it’s not bad luck.

Whether he has the ability to recover his position and form remains to be seen

GW34 Huddersfield (H)
GW35 Man City (A)
GW35 Brighton (H)

Wilson

Bournemouth have no double gameweeks and no blank weeks

After returning with a goal and assist after injury v Huddersfield it was a disappointing blank v Newcastle where he was put in the shade by his strike partner Josh King.

However his returns, underlying stats and particularly his consistency plus the next few fixtures are all good so I suspect alot of this is just to do with the recruitment of double gameweek players.
