Fantasy Premier League, top 10 FPL managers

Here’s our fantasy premier league GW38 tips interim top 10 FPL managers article as the gameweek won’t be finished until Thursday night. This article will let you see how the top 10 managers are progressing and what changes they made.

If you haven’t seen the article before this is where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers where in the last 3 seasons none have finished outside the top 10k. The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

I’ll compare the top 10k score with the top 10 managers in the updated article.

They have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank.

The top 10k don’t favour any player more significantly than the top 10 managers I follow.

Only GKs and Defenders:  Pickford, Caballer, Yoshida, Stephens, Holgate and Vertonghen

Focus on 1 managers team

Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.

Here’s his team as of Monday morning.  He had scored 61 at that point with bench boost used.  Interestingly the lowest of the 10 managers.  His overall rank is 14k.  Will he make it into the top 10k?

Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.

The highest and lowest scoring managers at this point

Highest scorer

Top 10 FPL managers combined team

Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. The value is around £107.0m

Interestingly only 2 changes from my team

There is a real similarity to all the 10 managers teams at the moment. Here are the core players who are in more than 50% of the 10 managers teams are Caballero, Pickford, Stephens, Alonso, Yoshida, Holgate, Hazard, Alli, Sanchez, King, Jesus, Gabbiadini and Kane. Incredibly 13 players.

If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that definition King, Alli, Sanchez, Hazard,  and Alonso become essential
