fantasy premier league GW4 transfers – reviewing the results of the transfers in and out polls

Fantasy Premier League

In addition to the usual captain poll on the site I’ve added an additional 2 polls for plans relating to fantasy premier league GW4 transfers.  That is who FPL managers visiting the FFGeek site are  transferring in and out.  Here’s the results plus some commentary.

So within the captain poll article I also set up a poll for people to tell us 1 transfer in and 1 transfer out they were planning.  I took the options from the most transferred in and out players so far in the gameweek from the FPL site and added a few on myself.  The results were interesting so I thought that, as so many had voted, I should at least give some commentary on the results

This in some ways is the FFGeek readers bandwagons and sinking ships

Transfers in poll

Here’s the results:

None of these leading the way which is interesting.  I’d like to think that this represents the tricky week for a number of the leading teams which has widened the options rather than my menu fail!

Firmino and Morata lead the way in actual transfers in on the FPL site but in reverse order to the poll above.  Firmino has quite a tricky fixture with Man City next although Liverpool have a great record against the top sides .  Morata has an easier fixture against Leicester and has started life in the premier league amazingly well with 2 goals and 2 assists.

Mkhitaryan next on the poll is also no surprise with 5 assists so far this season and he’s 4th on the FPL site.

Next is the Liverpool midfield pair of Mane and Salah .  Mane has 3 goals this season with a goal in each game and Salah 2 goals and 2 assists.  The same comments apply as for Firmino in respect of the opposition not being easy.  In fact City have the best expected goals conceded record as you can see from part 2 of our underlying stats article

Pogba has also been in great form although I would have expected more transfers in given his form to date.  However FFGeek readers place him higher than the general FPL manager population who have him 9th in the list of transfers in.

Lack of Man City transfers in is perhaps no surprise given the selection and positional difficulties although they are facing a defence that conceded 3 goals against Watford. However as I said Liverpool have a great record against the top sides.   David Silva emerges as the top pick albeit with 2% of the vote.

Interestingly no Jesus and no Arsenal pair of Sanchez and Lacazette despite a potentially great fixture at home to Bournemouth.  It seems that Stoke and in particular the Liverpool debacle has put virtually all FPL managers off Arsenal assets.

Transfers out poll

Well at least none of these didn’t win this.

De Bruyne matches the FPL site as the most transferred out.  His deeper position and 3 blanks has made him a natural candidate to be dumped.  He’s a natural sale unfortunately.

Kane is next which again is the same as the FPL site.  3 blanks and a £12.4m price tag will do that to you.  I had thought that maybe my and many other FPL managers defence of him and his underlying stats may change that as far as the poll is concerned but that’s not the case.

Willian isn’t a surprise. He’s only got the 1 assist to show for himself,  achieved in GW1,  and has the spectre of Hazard hanging over him.   Leicester away isn’t the worst fixture but it’s not a definite hold on to fixture.

Lukaku after his missed penalty and zero score last week is a bit of a surprise considering he’s scored 3 times this season.  Managers on the FPL site have been more understanding he’s 12th most sold.  Personally his ownership and captain favouritism makes him too much of a potential danger to sell for me.

Aguero is no surprise after being a sub in the last game.  You want someone at that price to be nailed on starting every week.  Plus it’s even worse than that as it just appears Pep doesn’t have the love for him.

Then there’s Chicharito and Lacazette who I wouldn’t sell given their fixtures this week.  West Ham are home to Huddersfield and Lacazette home to Bournemouth

I hope you found the poll interesting and thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.  I’ll show the captain poll in a captain article tomorrow
