William Hill see 3 teams as favourites with the following win odds for £1 invested. It’s likely the fantasy premier league GW9 captain choice will come from one of those teams.

Man City £1.11 (Jesus, Sterling if you’re brave or Aguero if you believe in his gametime)

Man Utd £1.33 (Lukaku)

Chelsea £1.36 (Morata)

If you want to see detailed stats on these players you can see it in our player ranking articles for midfielders and forwards

THE BOOKIES ODDS

Here we look at one of the bookies anytime goal scoring odds. I’ve tried to only put players in who have some gametime security. It’s the return for £1 invested. Odds are as of  Friday afternoon and remember they assume the player starts and don’t count assist potential.

£1.40 – Aguero and Jesus

£1.57 – Morata

£1.73 – Lukaku

£1.80 – Kane

£1.85 – Sane and Sterling

£2.00 -Lazazette

£2.10 – Hazard

THE FPL ADVICE SITE POLLS.

Thanks to everybody who voted in the FFGeek poll.  You may remember it was started after the UCL games had finished so included the most up to date info. I know that at least site 1 started on Monday.

It’s also worth noting here that the FFGeek poll asks who you are going to appoint as captain to reflect the reality of the spread of captain choices. Others ask who is the best captain. Others just say captain poll and leave the question up to you.

Firstly here’s the FFGeek poll:

Here’s the summary of the other main advice polls. It’s worth noting that site 1 is the site with the most traffic but did start on Monday.

Some brief stats

From the excellent site understat

Lukaku

fantasy premier league GW9 captain choice

I’ve marked in grey the most similar games which you can see he scored a goal in each of them.  He got 2 bonus against Southampton but not the other games.  So consistent if not spectacular.  His xG was good in all 3 games and his xG has only been questionable vs Liverpool.

Jesus

So only 1 comparable game.  So he’s not as consistent in returning or his xG as Lukaku is but he’s far more explosive.  He’s also not as consistent with his minutes.  Not on there is the Palace home game where he didn’t play at all.

Given equal minutes Jesus has the potential to outscore Lukaku in fact even with only 65 minutes he’s got 2 goals on 2 occasions.

THE FFGEEK CHOICE

I think I’m going to stick with Lukaku.  I just can’t deal with the minutes risk of Jesus.

If you think Jesus will get decent minutes or you don’t think he needs them then he’s your choice as he could easily outscore Lukaku.

It’s set to Lukaku for now and if I change it I’ll tweet it
