Important note before going further

I’ve now changed the focus to the last 10 gameweeks rather than the season

The first schedule ranks players by their underlying stats expected goal and assists converted to FPL points in the last 10 gameweeks . Those who are expected to be the penalty taker have an * next to their name. They are analysed on xG the rest on non penalty xG. This is different than previously.

The F Ease is the fixture ease ranking.

The value for money VFM ratio is the total expected points from their underlying stats divided by their price

The 2nd schedule shows their xG90 (expected goals) and xA90 (expected assists) plus their shots per 90 and key passes per 90.

There’s also anytime goalscorer odds.

I’ve already posted the defender rankings

Player values and PPMs are as of Wednesday 7 April

A few comments

Diogo Jota

The man of the moment’s stats are rather hamstrung by his average minutes of 57 which is why he is so low in the rankings. If I adjust the average minutes to 80 though it only takes him to 14th and would show him as being roughly 10 in value for money.

The thing about Jota is that his shooting volumes are excellent and at at the moment he can’t miss. This is in stark contrast the the Wolves Jota of last season who just couldn’t hit a barn door.

Which is the real Jota is the question as well as whether he will start either ahead of Firmino as he did last night in the UCL or whether he will be accommodated through a change of formation to 4-2-3-1.

It’s worth mentioning that the Bookies love him at £1.75 to core v Villa.

The penalty takers

That is Salah, Fernandes, De Bruyne and Aubameyang have all been ranked on their xG rather han their non penalty xG like everyone else.

It only really affect’s Fernandes ranking (surprisingly!) who moves from 14th to 4th.

Pedro Neto

Very good front end loaded fixtures, decent underlying stats and volumes. Just not in that great an attacking team

Raphinha and Lingard

Both have been putting up great underlying stats including good volumes. Both have fixtures which come good towards the back end of the season but aren’t great in the near future

Son

Highly owned and with a double gameweek in 32 he’s hard to ignore but it’s worth saying that his stats really aren’t great and it’s over performance which is keeping him alive. 3 assists in his last 6 starts doesn’t exactly scream form either

Gareth Bale

I’ve put him in the schedule despite the fact that he hasn’t started the last 2 just for information considering Spurs have a DGW32. His underlying stats on a quality and volume basis are actually very good but none of this means anything if he isn’t going to start.

Sterling

It’s all very well and good having excellent underlying stats but when you’ve only started 2 of the last 6 games and blanked in both and have a history of underperforming your stats (albeit narrowly) then it definitely means approach with caution

Fixture Ease Schedule

Here’s a schedule ranking their fixtures to the end of the season by the ease of the defences they face
