Hi this is my fantasy premier league for gameweek 30 only. This has no regard to future fixtures (unlike my imaginary wildcard team) but is just for gameweek 30. in choosing it you should weigh up whether its someone you want longer term in your team
- Guzan
- £4.8
- I’m trying not to double up in defence so 7 clean sheet potential GKs and defenders is a bit of a stretch but even with QPRs revival this has to be a chance for a clean sheet as Villa dont have too bad a defence at home. There probably are better value defenders such as Clark at £4.4m but Guzan is an option among the cheaper keepers
- Bramble
- £4.3
- This is more of a reflection of Norwich’s ability to score rather than a positive on Sunderlands defence which is definitely one of the worst. This will undoubtedly be a nervy tense game and Sunderland will be looking to squeeze out a 1 nil. Bramble has played the last 8 or 9 so you have to give yourself a good clean sheet potential here
- Dawson
- £4.6
- Should really be in all out teams as Spurs have the 5th best home defence and the 2nd best away defence behind Man City. At this price hes fantastic vale. didnt play in the Europa League so nailed on to start. Playing at home against a woeful Fulham attack away from home should be a clean sheet
- Azpilicueta
- £5.6
- Chelsea have the 3rd best home defence and West ham will only come to defend. Only Cole probably has guaranteed gametime in the Chelsea defence but He’s £6.4m so everyone else has rotation issues so you may as well go for the cheapest which is Azpilicueta. Did play midweek and Ivanovic didn’t which is a risk but I think Benitez will want his superior attacking skills
- Kagawa
- £7.9
- Double united coverage this week looks a good prospect at home to Reading and with Nani a doubt Kagawa could be the one to profit. It was 3 shots 3 goals against Norwich but his advanced position and arrival in the box suggests we may see more against the 2n d worst away defence in the league
- Mata
- £9.7
- Played a big part in the midweek Europa League game but its hard to see him not playing again against West Ham given the defensive bus that will undoubtedly be parked by Big Sam. His pivotal role in unlocking the defence should be crucial but you cant predict anything Benitez will do. He has totally dropped away in the underlying stats and has not returned in the last 2 but before that was a model of consistency. This may be his last chance for fantasy premier league managers looking to make some funds for the likes of benteke and Lukaku upfront
