I wouldn’t normally do a fantasy premier league post just for this but since he is my number 1 midfielder in my “ones to “watch” article then i thought I should warn people in case they hadn’t picked it up
Here’s Pellegrini quoted in the Manchester Evening News. It also includes information on Nastasic and an update on Kompany
“He has a problem with his calf,” he said. “I don’t exactly how many weeks it will be but maybe three or four.”
The Chilean also explained that Matija Nastasic and Fernandinho are both doubts for the trip to the Stadium of Light, while Vincent Kompany will be out for a further two weeks.
“Kompany had five weeks – that was the original prognosis for him. He is in his third week so he has two weeks more,” Pellegrini added.
“We hope if he continues the same way he will not have any problems.”
I think what is likely is that Navas will come into the side and that Nasri and Navas will be on the midfield flanks with Fernadinho and YYT holding with 2 strikers.
There is an international break so if he’s out for 3 weeks he will miss Sunderland A and Spurs H and maybe back for Swansea H. If its 4 he will also miss Swansea H and maybe back for WBA A.
I haven’t decided yet whether to sell this week or see how the injury fares over the international break as I have him in Sky and TFF but not Baclays fantasy premier league. Nasri will be the beneficiary and be secure for the games he’s off so if you’re looking for a short term beneficiary he’s the main one.
On to the line ups now
