fantasy premier league news of the day – 18 October 2012

News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news of the day for Thursday 18 October 2012 including John Terry, Ashey Cole, Wilshere, Borini, Reina and Price rises/falls

John Terry

JT accepts the 4 match ban.

Here’s the games he will miss.

Tottenham (Premier League A) – October 20
Man United (Premier League H) – October 28
Man United (Capital One Cup H) – October 31
Swansea (Premier League A) – November 3
First game back:
Liverpool (Premier League H) – November 11

The beneficiary is bound to be Gary Cahill although there’s nothing much to be gained from these fixtures.  Too many games missed though to be considered for Sun Dream Team

Ashley Cole

Only need to story now on Suarez for a full house of good guys today.  No ban just a fine for his twitter outburst.  Heres the statement on the FA website quoted in the Daily Mail

A statement on the FA’s website read: ‘Chelsea’s Ashley Cole has been fined £90,000 after he admitted an FA charge in relation to a Twitter comment which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute.
‘Cole, who had requested a non-personal hearing, was also warned as to his future conduct.’

No ban then much to the relief of his fantasy premier league and Sun Dream Team owners.  Bad news for Bertrand fantasy premier league owners.

Jack Wilshere

Says he’s ready for Norwich after 90 minutes during the week.  I cant see him starting and it will be interesting to see where he plays.  The midfield looks strong and I can see him being one of the screening midfielders but with Diaby coming back to fitness and Arteta essential to the way Arsenal play its not straightforward.

Borini

Out for 3 months after breaking his foot on Italy under 21 duty.  Heres a club statement as quoted in the Daily Mail:

A club statement read: ‘Liverpool have confirmed Fabio Borini is to undergo an operation on a fractured bone in his foot.

‘The forward originally sustained an injury to the area during the recent Anfield clash with Manchester United.

‘He then further aggravated the problem resulting in a fracture and returned from international duty with Italy last week.

‘Borini was assessed by the club’s medical team upon his return to Melwood and a decision was made for the 21-year-old to have surgery.

‘Typically, an injury of this nature requires a three-month rehabilitation period.’

The injury forced the forward’s early return from international duty with Italy Under-21s last week, as he aggravated a problem first suffered in the recent 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Sun Dream Team owners of Suarez are the main beneficiaries as he will be forced to play all the upcoming games.  Not so great for fantasy premier league owners who will prefer to see him rested for non premier league games.

Reina

Just when you thought you could get the 2nd clean sheet in a row out of the Liverpool keeper he injures himself while on International duty against France.

Seems to be only 1 game so no real beneficiary.  Heres the statement direct from  the club website:

Rodgers told his pre-match press conference: “We’ll wait another 24 hours to see how he is. It’s nothing overly serious – he felt just a slight twinge in his hamstring at half-time in the game.

“I met him here last night about 7.15pm. All of our players coming back from international duty come here [Melwood] to be assessed and reported before they go back home.

“We had the checks on him and he had a scan this morning. It’s not overly-serious, but we just need to weigh up the risk in the next 24-48 hours.

“I think Spain picked up a few injuries. By all accounts the pitch wasn’t the best and a number of them picked up muscle injuries.

“Speaking to Pepe last night, he very rarely has any muscle injuries, but hopefully it will prove not to be serious.

Price rises/falls

Still no £0.2m rise but 15 £0.1m rises.  Most transferred in are Routldge 63k and Rafael 58k.

Pablo is the first £0.2m fall.  Most transferred out are Fellaini 87k and Tevez 40k

Thats it.  See you tomorrow
