fantasy premier league news Tuesday 17 January

DIEGO COSTA

Where would a news update be without Diego Costa being involved.  There’s nothing offically coming from the club  but reports are that he’s apparently training by himself despite the supposed bad back.  The other notable report is that Conte is under no pressure to kiss and make up and will assess him this week as to whether physically and mentally he is able to play against Hull in GW22.   Hazard is likely to play centrally in a front 3 flanked by Pedro and Willian if Costa doesn’t play

Here’s a couple of link to a guardian article and a telegraph article on the subject

MATIP

£5.3m Liverpool CB Matip may not play until GW26 after Cameroon have refused to take him not being available for AFCON lying down.  That would give potentially 4-5 games for £4.6m CB Klavan .  2 to 3 clean sheets potentially in those games.  Here’s the link to the Guardian article

Swansea (H)
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Spurs (H)
Leicester (A)

NYOM

£4.4m LB Nyom is still a doubt for GW22 in the row over international clearance for him not going to AFCON.  Here’s the link to the article on the website which also casts doubts on CB Evan’s availability for GW22 due to injury.    Brunt will probably play LB in his absence which in itself is a negative for his owners instead of playing LAM.

PAYET

The other big transfer saga continues with West Ham rejecting an offer from Marseille for £19m which is supposedly Payet’s preferred destination.  Looking like a sale is getting momentum though despite earlier statements.  To me £6.3m mid Lanzini looks to be the beneficiary of some set piece and creative duties.  Here’s the link to the guardian article

CLYNE

Missed the Man Utd game with a knock. Yet to be any formal feedback but expected to be back for GW22.

ERIKSEN

Good article attached on Eriksen.  Talks about how 3-4-2-1 where he is in the 2 with Alli has freed him up and given the marauding full backs as another outlet.  Here’s the link
