fantasy premier league news update Tuesday 4 September

News

Heres a few stories from the weekend and yesterday to help fantasy premier league managers catch up.  Including  prices rises/falls, Ballotelli, Carrol and Zabaleta

Price rises and falls in fantasy premier league

Rises

Michu and Tevez  £0.8m

Hazard £0.6m

Fellaini RVP and Dyer £0.4m

Falls

Mata Oscar Sturridge £0.5m

Ramires £0.4 Aguero £0.4m

This is crazy stuff.  Its enough to make even the most ardent wildcard holders and fantasy premier league managers against points hits shudder.  Certainly not transferring Mata to Hazard and taking the hit is one I have called wrong.  At the moment Im holding but Ill continue to update you.  Ill also do a post to Wildcard or not to Wildcard that is the question tomorrow

Balottelli/Manchester City Strike force

With both Aguero and Balotelli injured Dzeko looks a fantasy premier league bargain at £7.5m although with Aguero due back for GW4 and Ballotelli for GW5 this doesnt look like a viable option at the moment.

Meireles

Has now gone to Fenerbache.  The effect should be to make Lampard less rotatable.  Good news for fantasy managers holding him and one of the tiny bits of bad news  for Hazard owners hoping for more rotation and more penalties

Carrol

The 1.3% of fantasy premier league managers who own him will be disapointed to hear that reports that the hamstring injury is worse than first thought and the initial few weeks could be far longer.  Well keep you updated

Neil Taylor Injury

Now out until the end of the season.  19 year £4.0m cheapie Ben Davies may be the beneficiary of the injury although Laudrup was hedging his bets in a post match interview on how much he will play.  Theres certainly no other left back its just whether laudrup will try and play tate or Monk there.  Theres certainly some easy games coming so if you want to take a risk with your wildcard it may be worth a punt.  Im still not a believer in the Swansea defence but  defenders at £4.0m all come with some risk

Zabaleta

No word on a return date from his hamstring injury. Maicon may get playing time sooner than we think.  Also  will the city defence improve.  In a couple of weeks Ill be reviewing trends from defensive stats when there is enough data to make a judgement.  However Im not walking away from 17 clean sheets last year just yet.  In addition theres the matter of Mata (no pun intended) and NZogbia to deal with.
