Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the fantasy premier league questions and answers catch up as we head towards gameweek 12.  Hopefully others will get something interesting/informative from this for their fantasy premier league teams

fantasy premier league – Question and Answer catch up

Q1

Hi mate,

Do you know whether or not Chris Brunt was injured all this time as he has played the full 90minutes in the last 2 games. I am considering bringing him in for Barkley as Brunt is only worth £5mill and I think is a decent goal threat. Let me know what you think thank’s

 A1

He pulled out of the NI squad with injury and at the moment has no return date so not an option at the moment. If you look at the historic returns its pretty low. His fantasy premier league points per minute this season so far is 25 and the last 2 years 22/23. Compare that to Amalfitano who has returned points significantly quicker at 16 and R Morrison at 18. He therefore doesn’t seem that attractive. WBA generally play 4-2-3-1 with Yacob and Mulumbu holding. Amalfitano at RAM and Sessegnon at CAM. That leaves one position available at LAM which Brunt has occupied in the last 2 games getting 1 assist. Certainly Sinclair is a rival and to a lesser extent J Morrison and Dorrans.

I’ve rated the best cheapie as R Morrison at the moment although I still feel there’s alot of upside in Januzaj even though gametime wise I’ve ranked him quite low

Hope that helps and good luck whoever you choose

Q2

hey love the site

ive decided to WC this week
my current team is
Boruc Davies
Lovren Toure Ivanovic Reid Coleman
Barkley Januzaj Tiote Ozil Ramsey
Aguero Sturridge Suarez

I was thinking of swapping barkley ivanovic reid davies toure tiote and sturridge for -> morrison Ridgewell rat krul glen johnson lallana and rooney

team value is 103.5 with 1,3 in the bank
also maybe ozil for hazard and maybe lovren for clyne

any thoughts and suggestions please on these choices

A2

thanks for the comments

I think the following transfers are good ones

Tiote for R Morrison
Reid (injured) for Rat
Rooney for Sturridge.

How about something a little risky by putting McGregor of Hull in. He’s injured but back for GW14. Or Pantmillon or Mannone on the basis of Poyet improving the defence.

I don’t know what price you bought Lovren at but I wouldn’t give away alot of value to downgrade to Clyne. You may want to think of another GK altogether as 2 saints defs/GK is alot for the games coming. Maybe Lloris or Mignolet

I would go for McAuley instead of Ridgewell.

Instead of Glen Johnson I would go for Walker or Dawson if you can handle the Chiriches risk or Jagielka. I think the defences are better.

I wouldn’t transfer out Ozil as Arsenal have Cardiff and Hull after Saints.

Lallana has 2 tricky fixtures away so now is a tricky time to put him in. I’ve been looking at Nasri and Sessegnon or Cabaye as short term options before Lallana comes in at 14 home to Villa

Hope that helped and good luck for fantasy premier league GW12

Q3

Absolutely great site for FPL support! It’s one of my very few “go-to” sites. I assume you hope to increase traffic on your site, but I’d like to keep it quiet because the information you provide is so valuable! ;-)

Anyway, a couple of questions . . . 1.) What do you think about my team? Any suggestions?

Mignolet, (Steer),

Vertonghen, Vidic, Koscielny, (Ward, Turner),

Ozil, Ramsey, Lampard, Lallana, (Jedinak),

Benteke, Aguero, Suarez

The one player I was unsure of was Lampard. I have 0.1 in the bank so my second question would be . . . 2.) Not including Ramsey and Lallana, who do you think is the best 7.7 or lower midfielder for the next 3-5 GW’s?

A3

Hi thanks for the comments

The 3 I think are Nolan Sessegnon and Cabaye. there’s more detail on the 3 in my GW12 midfield “ones to watch” article. Only suggestions an Everton defender such as Jagielka instead of Vidic (but not this GW) and a Hull cheapie such as Rosenior or Davies if you can stretch Rat or Clyne as your other cheapie.

Hope that gives you some food for thought

good luck for fantasy premier league GW12

Q4

Any comments on Remy as an option after Newcastle game?

A4

Hi yes I have to say I’m convinced

Here’s what I wrote in my fantasy premier league forwards “ones to watch” article where I listed him as a buy

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 1 assists.  Time per point scored:  11.2 mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 9th.  Consistency 6/9  67%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5

In great form which is now being backed up by some underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  Now is definitely the time to buy if you’re going to before 2 homes games and Swansea away

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:  Norwich (H)   West Brom (H)   Swansea (A)   Man Utd (A)   Southampton (H)   Crystal Palace (A)

Q5

I´m trading out Wilson this week.

Who would you get out of McAuley, Rat and Williams?

A5

Hi,

McAuley but close with Rat.  (see my GK/Defs “ones to watch” article link below)

 Cheers

Q6

having played my wild card this week gameek 12 I need your openion
1- ( cabaye and giroud ) or ( nasri and remy )
2- players with good fixtures

A6

Hi assuming you’ve got Ozil or Ramsey for some Arsenal coverage I would go with Nasri and Remy

Q7

Is it worth a hit to switch Sturridge and Silva to Rooney and Coutinho / Gerrard. I want to bring in Walcott as soon as he returns so Cou would only be temporary anyway.

Full team is:

Mignolet Davis
Terry Clyne Fonte Chester Williams
hazard Silva Janusaz Amaltifano Ramsey
Suarez Aguero Sturridge

I know the next couple of weeks should be sorting out the defence. Thinking of Evans or Mert for Fonte and Rat for Chester.

Thanks.

A7

I possibly wouldn’t take the hit just as i generally think they aren’t worthwhile, but you should get the return on Rooney away to Cardiff. Liverpool have a few good fixtures so I think your plan makes sense. I think I would like to see Walcott go from sub to starting before I look at him. Personally I would prefer Mert (Assuming fit) for Fonte and Rat for Chester is a good transfer

Q8

How about Sunderland Defenders P.Bardsley & O.Celustka?

A8

Bardsley as he will probably go to RB when Dossena is back and Celustka dropped.  Sunderland defence is poor at the moment but Poyet is a good defensive manager and an improvement is possible.  I think there are better alternatives at the moment though.

Q9

I struggle this week with 1) who to give the armband, 2) who to bench and 3) if I should use my free transfer, save it or even take a -4 hit to optimise captain choice. My team (1.3 in bank):
Mignolet
B Davies, Distin, Ivanovic, Fonte, Dawson
Brady, Morrison, Gerrard, Hazard, Jedinak
Suarez, Aguero, Lukaku
What would you recommend?

A9

Hi Armband to Suarez as per my captain choice article. wouldn’t take a hit

Bench – Jedinak and Fonte then either Distin/Morrison/Dawson

free transfer, maybe Lukaku to Remy

Good luck
