fantasy premier league team focus – Everton

Fantasy Premier League

With Everton having guaranteed fixtures in GW26 and GW28 and with Sunderland (H) their GW26 fixture then it’s a good time to take a closer look at their team and see who the key fantasy assets are.  We look at the key players, gametime issues, their stats and their future fixtures to help you for your upcoming transfers

fantasy premier league team focus – Everton

EVERTON COMPETITION FOCUS

Everton aren’t in Europe or the FA Cup or EFL Cup.  Therefore the league is their only focus and will see them able to put out their best team without rotation in theory.  They are 7th 9 points from the top 4 which maybe too much of an ask.  I have to confess that I’m not quite sure how deep the Europa League goes but it will be a focus for Koeman whether it’s 6th or 7th.   Despite the lack of other competitions Koeman is quite a tinkerer as a manager though so selection can be unpredictable

TEAM LINEUPS

Here’s we look at their last 3 lineps from the excellent site football-lineups

GW25

Mirallas was unavailable through injury

GW24

GW23

Gueye was in AFCON

GW25 pass and position map from 11tegen11

Who is gametime secure?

The following players played all 3 games and their position:

£9.9m Fwd Lukaku (CF),

£7.1m Mid Barkley (CAM, RM),

£5.9m Def Coleman (RB, RWB),

£5.1m Def Williams (CB)

£4.7m Def Funes Mori (CB)

£5.7m Def Baines (LB, LWB)

£4.7m GK Robles

Of the other players in defence I think you’ve got to discount Jagielka and Holgate at the moment.  In midfield while Lookman in particular and Davies have had their moments their selection is too uncertain to gamble in my mind.  Scheinderlin and Gueye cause problems for Davies and Mirallas for Lookman.  Mirallas for me is too uncertain and a big substitution magnet as well.  Lukaku is an injury doubt but expected to be to be fit for GW26.

STATS

Firstly lets look at the 2 attacking players of Lukaku and Barkley.  I’ve given the full stats table and divided it into 2

So Lukaku if he is fit is a pretty essential pick at the moment.  Barkley is a bit more questionable.  Ideally you’d like his PPM to be closer to 5 than 4 and his consistency around 40% rather than 33%.  However, the fixture next and the GW28 certainty, depending on this weekends FA Cup results, may sway you to take the pick.  If you were digging you would say his underlying stats may suggest some positive uplifts could come.

Here’s some stats to compare defenders:

Here’s a bit of underlying stats to compare the 4 from the excellent squawka site:

So what does this mean for the defensive players?

So it depends on what your criteria is.  If you have the cash and goal threat is the most important thing then Coleman has the shooting and goal stats and generally the highest average position.  Although this doesn’t show in the pass and position map for GW25.

If you prefer the additional options that Baines gives in terms of set pieces and penalties then he’s your man.

Williams is for value and gametime security.  Funes Mori is even cheaper but probably isn’t as secure as Williams.

FUTURE FIXTURES

Here’s the next 6:

Sunderland (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Hull (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (A)

They’re pretty mixed with avoiding the bye weeks the main attraction.

SUMMARY

Lukaku for me is a very strong candidate for your team with the only caveat that upsets in the FA Cup may change that.  Just keep and eye on his injury.

Barkley is an ok choice but just hasn’t performed.  He has produced some underlying stats though which could suggest improvement.

In defence it depends on your priorities.  See my summary above

FFGEEK CHOICE

I’ll put Lukaku in when I feel more relaxed about his injury.  The FA Cup results would have to be massively shocking for me to change my mind.  Barkley possibly but probably not.  I would like to avoid him if possible. In defence I’m not sure.  I could do any of the 4 at the moment.

Hope that helped you if you’re looking at Everton transfers
