Here’s our team for GW12. I’ve made 1 transfer after much debate. Here’s the team plus an insight into the thought process for structure, team selection and the transfer decisions.

Firstly the transfer decsions.
From an attacking point of view, Sanchez, Aguero, Pelle and Costa all have good games in GW12 so they were intouchable this week. Siggy and Di Maria have tough fixtures but next they both have 2 home games. I was tempted to take Di Maria out for Hazard but the next 2 home fixtures he has at home to Hull and Stoke were just too tempting even with his pretty ordinary display against Palace. The same with Siggy. Home games next against Palace and QPR are just too tempting to transfer him out. Defensively my only selection dilemma was O’Shea or Moore. Dummett was a no brainer. I would have put Moore as I think they have a reasonable clean sheet possibiltiy but he hasn’t started the last couple of games and to make it even worse came on as a sub against Southampton.
Anyway as for the transfer it was a tricky one. With Chelsea having a good defensive run starting with the home game to WBA . Here’s Chelsea’s next 6 fixtures:
West Brom (H)
Sunderland (A)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Compared to Southamptons:
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
Everton (H)
So really after the Villa game the next 3 fixtures are about as bad as you could get so Bertrand was going anyway it was just a matter of this week vs next week. The 3 games will also see a price drop hopefully or I could just buy Alderweireld back.
However there was no way else of buying a Chelsea defender it was just who has more of a chance of getting a clean sheet in GW12. In my mind this was Chelsea. My main worry is that Mourinho selects Luis for this game and Azpilicueta for the midweek Champions league game away to Schalke. I will be looking at the team sheet very nervously.
I did think of transferring out Chadli especially as I can see a Hull 3-5-2 bus being parked. The next 2 games after that aren’t great home to Everton and away to Chelsea to make the transfer case even more compelling. If you can ride those out though its home to Palace and Stoke. The issue was that there was no obvious replacement. I did think of Moses home to Burnley but he was away to Liverpool and Man Utd after that so I scrapped that idea. I do have the option for GW13 to put Oscar in with a 4 point hit and Pelle out but that can wait to next week
My captain choice for me was a no brainer in Aguero. Costa is my vice. I did think about making Di Maria my vice to avoid the potential nightmare that both Costa and Aguero are rested for the Champiuons League games midweek but decided to take the risk.
