Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 3 seasons overall ranks are 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW17 review

Here’s the points and the basic stats

Gameweek 17 review

GW17 points: 72 (FPL average 56) Total points 958 , Gameweek rank 1,014k, Overall Rank: 434k, green arrow 145k, Team Value: £102.8m

Here’s the points;

So a good week when I reversed the scores of last week exactly.  So a 145k green arrow to 434k overall rank and 958 points.

Transfer thoughts

1 free transfer and £1.8m in the bank.

First of all I decided to hold on to my Liverpool players rather than transfer them out.  I would just be bringing them back again in GW20 so it seemed rather pointless.  Something else would have happened which inevitably would mean a -4 along the way as well.

Having done that I had 2 options.

The first was to take Abraham out and put Rashford in.  Abraham’s returns and underlying stats have dipped in the last 5 and he looks likely to be rotated over the holidays given that he has 2 back ups and Lampard has said Pulisic can play as a striker as well.  This transfer would also give me the favourite captain option in the FFGeek poll.

The 2nd option was to get rid of Hayden and put Jack Grealish in.  That would give me a more rounded team for GW18 meaning I didn’t have to play 2 of Hayden, Cantwell and Man City facing Soyuncu.

In the end I went for option 2 which is Hayden out Grealish in.  Grealish has been putting up some good numbers and has good fixtures ahead plus it gives me a better balanced side with 4 midfielders who can all return.

So the transfer is Hayden out and Grealish in.

Lineup

The only choice to make was between Cantwell and Soyuncu which was a fairly easy one.  Soyuncu goes to the bench

Captain choice

This hasn’t been so easy as you can see from my captain analysis article.  It was between Jimenez and De Bruyne.  A good but not great forward vs a dodgy defence choice against A top quality attacker vs arguably the best defence in the league.

There’s no easy way to evaluate it but in the end I went for De Bruyne with Jimenez as vice

Here’s the team lineup

Good luck in GW18 everyone
