Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Here’s my fantasy premier league team selection GW23 article. As is normal, I review GW22, share my transfer thoughts, captain choice and the lineup dilemmas.

Firstly if you’re new to the site my last 3 seasons overall ranks are 36k, 17k and 21k.

GW22 review

GW22 points: 43 (FPL average 57) Total points 1,264, Gameweek rank 6,442k, Overall Rank: 176k, red arrow 78k, Team Value: £103.7m

Here’s the points:

I went into loads of detail in my early FFGeek team thoughts article so I won’t here.

In essence it was my worst gameweek of gameweek of the season by gameweek rank resulting in a 78k red arrow to a 176k overall rank.

Transfers

You may have seen my early transfer article of yesterday when I completed the transfer of Fabianski out to McCarthy in to avoid a price rise.

I’m now carrying over a free transfer to have 2 and £1.5m in the bank for the double gameweek 24 when Liverpool and West Ham play twice

Lineup issues

There was only really 1 lineup issue and that was Grealish v Cantwell.  It was a difficult one but I’ve stuck with Grealish again even though his inclusion cost me 5 points last week as I benched Gomez.

Lundstram and Rico make up the rest of the bench.

Captain choice

You may have seen my captain analysis article.  Another difficult one.  I’ve gone for De Bruyne as it’s hard to ignore City at home but it is a total 50/50 with Vardy.  Vardy is vice

The team lineup looks like this

Looking ahead to GW24

You may have seen my article on Liverpool combinations for DGW24.  Here’s some doodling looking towards GW24

The Salah in option

My primary focus at the moment is to keep Mane and Alexander Arnold and bring in Salah with Gomez going out.

The team would look like this:

GW24 – Jimenez, Gomez and Alli out – Calvert Lewin, Holgate and Salah in

At the moment I only have £0.1m contingency for this

I have mulled over a couple of alternatives but I would be surprised if I did anything other than bring Salah in

The Firmino option

GW24 transfers Gomez Alli and Jimenez out for Mendy, Martial and Firmino for – 4 points

The Robertson in option

GW24 transfers Gomez out to Robertson.  Jimenez to Ings.  No points deduction

Alli stays for the home game to Norwich

Hope that gives you some food for thought and good luck for GW23
